Absolutely amazing food! You know its good when you sit down and forget to take photos and by the time you realize the food is all gone! We tried a variety of different dishes ranging from garlic shrimp, to mapo tofu, fish, beef and chicken dishes. Highly recommend if you are in the Harvard area to try House of Chang out. Im definitely coming back so that I can take the photos that I forgot to take my first visit here!

Randomly ran into this little restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Located in a high-end neighborhood, their sign of the Lanzhou Noodle Soup caught my eyes. The friendly owner greeted us and helped us to pick the dishes. Ordered the chicken with scallion, also the pork with some chili pepper and of course the Lanzhou beef noodle soup that we enjoyed the chewy noodle texture and the broth a lot. The other dishes were good too. Elegant interior decoration offers a relax atmosphere for enjoying food. Very reasonable and I’d recommend it.

Whole meal was GASSSS. The owner and chef are so sweet I think they’re a couple.
We got their homemade dumplings and mini meat buns and fried shao mai. And hot and sour soup and beef pulled noodles. Everything SATISFIED.
Was craving hot and sour and got exactly what I was hoping for. So beautiful, thick, generous with the mushrooms and tofu. Just add some vinegar for more sourness because I like things on the more sour side.
The beef hand pulled noodles was also sooooo goood. The noodles ITSELF was SAVORY. The noodle! No flour taste or weird powdery taste.
I was full but kept drinking the broth. It’s flavorful and umami. Its that smooth and delicious and refreshing. Was on my cycle so I was bloated and gross feeling but this was renewed me.
When I asked about it they said they make their own noodles and boiled broth from bone for a whole SUN CYCLE. Saw a some Asian uncles and knew this would be a regular spot for me.
I could write so much. Give it a try and tell me i’m right. Completely worth the walk. It’s right around harvard!

We’re from LA and have been looking for great Chinese food in the Boston area. I think we found it. I got the beef noodle soup, added their authentic chilies. The noodles were handmade, and the chilies straight from Szechuan. Very good. Will be coming back. If you’re in the mood for yummy, hot noodle soup, this is the place. Strongly recommend 5+ stars!

Growing up eating my mother’s Chinese food I am picky when it comes to eating out for a Chinese food. Here you get authentic Chinese food in a small neighborhood restaurant. Bright outdoor light gives it an open feeling, and a simple but sophisticated decor that isn’t too busy makes it a calm space. Our favorites are the beef pulled noodle soup (the beef is the real deal, you can taste the five spice), yu xiang eggplant, and ma po tofu. The lunch specials are a good deal with soup (excellent hot and sour soup chock full of vegetables including tiger lily), choice of appetizer and white or brown rice. Friendly service. Many locals come here. The restaurant has been here for years and years. After you visit you will know why.

The beef noodles are so gooood! Homemade noodles in house – chewy, good mouth feel, and not too heavy. Soup is flavorful and if you like spicy.. they have a hot chili oil from the Szechuan area that’s legit.

I got the chung king spicy pork that’s supposed to look like the picture in the menu, but instead i get generic pork with veggies that’s available in every chinese take out. Asked refund from uber, can’t afford to pay $20 bucks for stuffs I don’t want.

Nice quiet atmosphere with great service and phenomenal food! Spicy fish stew is to die for and all the noodle dishes are spectacular. Our server informed us that they make the noodles to order and you can 1000% taste the quality. Fish was super fresh and the sauce was excellent. Will definitely be back!!

I LOVE the food here, it’s delicious and the owner is lovely to talk to and gave us recommendations for eats. We have the fried rice, stir fried bok choy with garlic, and general tsos chicken (it’s not too spicy but I have a high spice tolerance so just be careful!). I’ve come back twice and I plan to come back some more!
