Since Uber Eats does not let you leave real reviews I always come to Google where they won’t silence the truth.

I ordered a shrimp fried rice yesterday, the shrimp came peeled and deveined.

Also ordered a shrimp Ramen, a soup. The fact that they do not peel nor devein the shrimp and just drop it in Ramen is absolutely absolutely crazy. Why do we have to stick our hands in hot soup, hot noodles, and hot broth to get the shrimp to peel them… if anything you could’ve done that with the shrimp fried rice, but you shouldn’t do it at all. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t peel and devein the shrimp and before placing it in hot ramen soup.

Not sure what type of sense this makes. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Try the curry vegan ramen…. Even if you eat meat! It’s amazing!

The place is typically not busy but the quality of food is superb. Service is always friendly but they typically only have 1-2 people working the floor so you may have to wait your turn depending on when you go, but it’s worth it and nothing a little patience won’t solve.

Unfortunately this restaurant was one of the biggest disappointments. Food wasn’t very good and service was friendly but not quick.

Our spicy chicken karaage didn’t taste very “made from scratch” at all – tasted like frozen packaged karaage that was drowned in a sweet spicy sauce. Too salty for our taste but was probably the best thing we had today.

Hotto tonkotsu ramen noodles were overcooked (more about this later) with a very bland flavor and not plated with any care at all. Where was the garlic tare we see in pictures? The roasted seaweed was completely soggy when we got the ramen as well.

Omurice – well, at least the rice was half decent. The egg had a few crunchy bits which I assume were egg shells. The “spicy mayo” didn’t taste like spicy mayo at all, more of a sweet yuzu jam.

The plates we were given for our appetizers had black dusty bits all over it which put us off as well. We also witnessed a waitress peeling eggs while eating her food and coughing using her personal phone (no gloves or hand washing in between). This put us off big time.

We witnessed my wife’s ramen being ready and sitting under a hot lamp for 5 minutes until my omurice was ready which lead to overcooked noodles and soggy seaweed.

We took a few bites of our mains and took it home (unfortunately we won’t be eating them). Hopefully this is a one-off experience for us and everyone else has better experiences here.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is great and the staff are so nice and thought of every small detail. The spicy chicken miso was very good. The Hotto tonkotsu was good, the pork slices were great. I added a little chili oil to spice it up. I would look forward to trying the others and some of the apps. Very nice patio as well!

I had lunch with a friend after visiting the Grant Park Farmers Market across the street. We were the first customers of the day (this is what we were told when we came in). We ordered some appetizers and some drinks. Her glass was dirty…. like noticeably dirty. We were checked on a couple of times, but I wasn’t able to get anyones attention for a drink refill when I needed it…by this time there might have been 3 tables. Our waiter looked occupied with his phone and the food runner was watching the game on the tv. The calamari was so overcooked that it was like chewing on a rubber band. We notified the waiter who did offer for the chef to recook one for us. We declined at the time, but it was not taken off the bill. I was double checking the price and seeing if the bill was split when the waiter made a comment about not setting the prices and it was just expensive. When I asked about the calamari not being taken off he said that he was told by management to draw a hard line about taking items off the bill, which seemed odd to me that they were ok with making another for free instead of just taking it off the bill. I asked, even if it wasn’t edible? To which he said it was edible and that he had eaten it before, I guess. It was an awkward conversation. We requested the recook he offered before since we were being charged the $18 anyway. I used to love coming here, but it seems the quality of food is declining along with the service.

**Update: After my review and response from the restaurant, I was able to speak with Tom and was pleasantly surprised by his response to the situation and wanting to make things right. I appreciate how receptive they were to critiques and clarification on their policy. To clarify, not taking an item ordered off the bill is meant if the customer eats all or most of the meal and then wants it taken off. Having working in the restaurant industry before, I know this happens but was not the situation in my case. It seems there was a gap in communication which Tom communicated to the staff for clarity moving forward. While this was not my best experience, I won’t close the door on visiting this establishment as I know we all have off days. The fact that they were so responsive confirms this was the case.

We had a great experience! The parking was simple, plenty of ample parking, from the moment you walk in Cha’nya greeted us with a smile. We were seated immediately, the restaurant is beautiful, stunning, and we loved the variety of options on the menu. The decor is wonderful. My husband and I were unfamiliar with what to order. Cha’nya walked us through the menu, making suggestions, even down to helping us select our cocktails! The food tasted amazing and our drinks. We cannot wait to return!

i had to reply to the lies that the owner said in response to the reviews that i and my other party members posted based on our experience.

first the karaage was given to us and it was cold. we told the runner not even the server. it came back in the same untouched and not even warmer somehow.

Now the hair. the response is a straight up lie. the hair was presented to the runner AND the server with the server making a comment about how she was trying to think about who in the kitchen has curly hair. So the blatant lie is insane.

I also know you are lying about the camera footage showing we got napkins and utensils at 5 because we had to ask for them after we were served our food around 5:49. The food was barely touched because as soon as the hair was found maybe after a bite or 2 everyone stopped eating. i will show the pictures of how we left the table and even the timestamp of when i took the picture.

There was no good faith. When we had brought up that our karaage was still cold after being taken to the back and doing who knows with it our server came back saying she talked to the owner who would not only not comp the karaage but that the security had been called to make sure we dont skip out. Again something we would never do. Small business or not. Also saying that we were given to go containers as good will??? So im being forced to pay…. but heyy a to go container yayyyy. Thats so dumb im sorry its almost laughable how a to go container is a sign of good will.

Again when the runner for some reason came to check us out we told him it was separate checks. He said it was 70 bucks for one check and we were trying to tell him the karaage was supposed to be on someone else check but he just was confused. so it was not us confused but your runner having to act like a server because she did not want to check us out or whatnot.

Again security was already there when the food had just barely gotten to our table. the fact that you keep just lying. the only food that was eaten completely was the muscles Which we said we would pay for cause… WE ATE IT!!! I will attach the full ramen bowls that were not taken to go or eaten. The food was not majority consumed. Take accountability that your staff, the kitchen , and your management messed up instead of saying we wanted free food.

EDIT: we never said the food was too hot. Stop lying lol. No food was remade. Again another lie. The protein is literally in the ramen and was not consumed which you can see in the pictures I provided. You said we ate all the food and now we just ate the protein?? I will go back and forth because you are lying and still are.

The wife and i sporadically dropped in for a late night dinner. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Shout out to James! But overall the ramen impressed- I would recommend giving them a shot over Jinya or Okiboru. I’d put them on par with kintori- but Hotto certainly has its own American flare.

When I located this restaurant I was extremely excited to try it with my friends. I thought the food would be authentic and delicious. Unfortunately, when we arrived their staff was unpleasant, they didn’t acknowledge us waiting to be seated as two of their employee’s that looked our way but didn’t say anything they continued to use their phones, the guy behind the bar wasn’t doing anything but looked our way twice without a word. Mind you the bar is literally by the main entrance maybe 2 feet. As we were seated the young man gave us the menus, then came 10’minutes later and asked for our drink order, we were ready to order our food but he didn’t want to take the order yet. We received our drinks now it’s been 20 minutes and at this point we are on our lunch break and ready to order. He says he will Come right back to let him give the check to another table. He comes back after 32 mins of us sitting there now and takes our order. Our appetizers comes out with our main course now it’s been 50 minutes. We were trying not to get irritated because we really wanting to give this place a chance and support their business but we were disappointed in the quality and care of the food, our noodles were lukewarm , the rolls were bland and tasted stale. Our cups were dirty, my friend literally used an alcohol pad to wipe the rim of the cup and it wasn’t clean at all. We told our waiter could he feel the noodles himself and could we get them replaced. At first he didn’t want to grab the noodles and tried to say that all their meals are served hot and it take 15 mins for them to cook. 4 mins later he comes back with my friends meal and you can tell it was just microwaved because he had just told us it takes 15 mins ro cook the dish. I ordered the curry ramen it wasn’t flavorful nor did it have a good enough quantity of meat like the pictures show on the menu not to mention the meat was a tad chewy either undercooked or old .The liquor drink my friend ordered never arrived but they tried to charge us for it. Once I explained to our waiter that we never received it , he didn’t believe us he then continued to go to the bar staff to reconfirm. You can tell they had words to exchange then they both started laughing. Our waiter came back to tell us “I guess you were right” then walked off. The overall experience was definitely not pleasant at all. A message to the managers and the owner of the establishment please train your employees correctly on customer service, there should be no reason your guest are overlooked when you guys have an empty establishment. Unfortunately, we would not give this place a second try due to the many negative factors during our visit.

My mother and I visited this restaurant today after it came highly recommended. Unfortunately, it was one of the most unprofessional dining experiences we’ve ever had.

From the start, our server repeatedly brought out only one drink, twice, completely disregarding my mother’s presence at the table. When our drinks finally arrived, the cups were visibly dirty. We immediately brought this to the server’s attention and requested a manager.

Not only was a manager “unavailable,” but the individual acting as shift leader responded to the concern by stating, “They aren’t dirty,” and dismissively shrugging her shoulders. When confronted directly, she denied her own words and actions rather than addressing the issue.

Throughout this entire interaction, the restaurant was blasting explicit, profanity-filled music at an excessive volume, forcing us to raise our voices just to be heard. This type of atmosphere is entirely inappropriate for a dining establishment and showed a complete lack of regard for guests.

The overall presentation of the restaurant was just as disappointing. The food presentation was poor, staff appeared untrained and unprofessional, and several employees were not wearing proper hair restraints, raising serious sanitation concerns.

This establishment demonstrated a total lack of customer service, accountability, and basic standards of cleanliness. We left without dining and will not be returning. I would strongly caution others before spending their money here.
