We just left Hot Spot next to Little Caesars in Homewood about 15 minutes ago. The food was HORRIBLE!!! We purchased 2 of the $9.99 Specials that include two Pork Chops and a piece of Catfish. The fish smelled weird. Although it was fried hard like we requested, it wasn’t done on the inside. The Pork Chops were old and Brown!!! The fries were the only thing edible on the plates. We had to throw all of this food away. A waste of $21.00.

Store is disgusting. Every inch of floor is sticky. “No public restroom” even though I had just dined in causing me to have no where to wash my hands. The woman behind the counter wanted me to come to the kitchen to wash my hands which is a huge health code violation.
While taking my order the woman behind the counter was too focused on her friend that had just come in.
This place gives a bad name to the good Hot Spot locations in this city.

The food was horrible! I ordered a ten piece combo with wings, fries and drink. The wings had a horrible smell. I asked for crispy wings but they were not crispy at all. The fries were good. The service was good but the building itself had a horrible smell.

I got the tilapia, hot lemon pepper wings, onion rings and kikipooh. The fish was out of the fryer hot and fresh. Wings were hot, tender and well seasoned. Real batter dipped onion rings. The kikipooh is better than that other wing place too. It’s got a good tropical flavor.

The flavor of the raju chicken pulao was good, but the portion of meat could use improvement! If cost is an issue, I recommend using whole chicken drumsticks (as it is cheap and very flavorful) instead of using small pieces of cut up bone-in chicken that are mostly bone. Using chicken drumsticks would also make it easy for staff to provide proper portions (e.g. 3 legs per order) instead of having them guess the amount of small pieces that should go in each order. Adding a simple raita on the side is also mandatory for any pulao/biryani, but that was not included. I still would give 3 stars despite these glaring issues because the flavor of the pulao had a very authentic Telugu flavor and the rice was not too oily.

This food was the worst I’ve ever tried to eat. The pork chops were so hard I couldn’t bite them at all and I don’t think they actually know what fried rice is. I didn’t think you could make rice uneatable but they did. Biggest waste of $12. The girl up front was kind is the only positive

It’s not just a one-time experience — I’ve ordered from this place multiple times, and the food has never been good. It’s often burnt, overly oily, or undercooked. The quality and taste are never consistent, and honestly, it’s never even decent. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Whenever I try to inform the staff about the issues, they come up with random excuses that make no sense — it feels like they’re just bluffing instead of taking responsibility. Overall, it’s been the worst experience every time. I truly don’t recommend it.
