Ate here twice while visiting town: once for dinner and once for breakfast. For dinner we had beef fajitas, and stuffed sopapillas. Both meals were great, although we felt like the beef in the fajitas was a little dry and the tortillas seemed store bought where I would have preferred homemade. I think the stuffed sopapillas were an inspired dish and I chose to have them with beef and chicken as well as both sauces to really try out all the options. Next time I’d probably ask to add lettuce and tomatoes and maybe sour cream.

My first time visiting, and let me tell you, for the prices their portions aren’t stingy as compared to other restaurants I’ve been to. I highly recommend their green chile over red chile and their shredded beef and chicken over anything else. But this is my preference, overall tasty place with good customer service.

Very excellent experience. Dined in, had a chicken stuffed sopapilla my first visit and it was absolutely perfect. Proportions were good for the amount spent on them. Extra sopapillas we got were so warm and soft. Everyone enjoyed the food they got and we were able to get back out just as quickly as we got in once we finished eating. The atmosphere was very comfortable, clearly a restaurant but I felt like I was at my grandma’s I was so pleased.

I’ve been going to hot tamales for years. Their salsa is great and comes right to the table. I like New Mexican places that just give you salsa you don’t have to order it. I’ve tried many things on the menu and liked them all. A stand out favorite is the green chile chicken enchilada casserole. Thank you for being a staple in Rio Rancho for sooo many years.
