I came here one evening and ordered through the drive through as the seating area was closed. The food didn’t take too long to prepare and I ordered the pad thai with chicken. The food is prepared in a good way and the plate has a generous amount of food. It was very delicious and i plan to come back to try more dishes and sit down inside. So i can’t say much about the atmosphere. This place is a great addition to the variety of food in the Polson area.

We took a little break from our bikes to enjoy a vegetarian lunch here on a beautiful Friday. We got Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Mixed Veggies all with Tofu as the protein.
I especially liked the drunken noodles,
Everything was good.

We had the drunken noodles, they were sooo good, so flavorful. I really liked this dish a lot. Place looks old and a bit run down and appears to not do dine in anymore, but they have picnic tables outside and it’s absolutely delicious. So although a pain I very much recommend going here for this dish. They are also very friendly, just wish we could go inside.

My dining companion and I were driving through Polson and decided to try someplace new. As we both love Thai cuisine and had talked about eating here for some time, we stopped. There is a sign on the window informing customers that the place will close permanently in October. We ordered at the take-out window as there is apparently no interior dining area. The woman who greeted us was friendly, but after our order was placed and she reached to close the window, I saw that her hands were completely filthy. I mean, black grime around and under ALL of her nails. We considered cancelling our order at that point, but ultimately decided to taste the food as the aroma coming from the kitchen was amazing. We both ordered Drunken Noodles as reviews are positive for this dish. What a disappointment. We’ve had Drunken Noodles at other establishments and typically find this dish with pan-fried rice noodles, vegetables, protein, and a luscious sauce delicately clinging to the other components of the dish. What we received at Hot Spot was a pile of very soggy noodles and a few small pieces of steamed veggies, none of which appeared to have been pan-fried at all, and which were swimming in a watery but very tasty broth. I ordered mine with tofu, and found flabby, pale, flavorless cubes that were heated but not otherwise prepared other than having been cut into cubes. My dining companion ordered the dish with chicken, and immediately commented that the chicken tasted “off”. I took a nibble and was hit by the distinct flavor of freezer burn. When I commented on this, my companion immediately responded with, “Oh, yes. That’s what I’m tasting.” My companion also ordered an order of won tons. They were overcooked to the point of being burned around the edges with toughened dough, and were super greasy. Two stars for the balance of flavors in the sauce; minus three stars for the virtually inedible quality of everything we ordered. $50 spent, more than half of which went into the garbage can.

This is outside eating only. Drive up window or walk up. Friendly staff and good selection of real Thai food. Prices were very reasonable. The food was fresh and yummy.
Portions were sharable and we had extra to take home. I’ll go again.

The Hot Spot in Polson is hands-down the best place for a quick family dinner! Even though it’s a drive-thru, the food is made with so much care and flavor that it feels like a home-cooked meal. The curry is absolutely amazing—rich, hearty, and perfect for sharing.
The owner is wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about serving the community. Every time we stop by, it feels like we’re picking up more than just dinner—we’re taking home a whole family night meal.
If you want something fast but truly special, skip the ordinary drive-thrus and head to The Hot Spot. It’s our go-to for family night, and the curry alone is worth the trip!

I hate writing bad reviews, especially since up until this point we’ve always had a good experience. It’s been a couple years since I ate here and we got two pad thai tofu dishes and the shrimp tempura appetizer. The shrimp was old, lukewarm, and the breading was soggy. You can see in the photo, its covered in what looks like little black bits that come from a dirty fryer. 11.50 for those.
The pad thai on the right was pretty good— the one on the left, however, was bland and mushy and tasted strange. You can see the tofu disintegrating in the one in the left while it’s firm on the one on the right. Old? Bad batch?
Employees were great but we won’t be coming back after this 🙁

Good food, lots of flavor. While I have had better Thai food different places throughout the country, this was still really good, especially for northwestern Montana! Small seating area so not good for large groups but nice nonetheless.

It will be sad to see this place close. I have fond memories of eating food from here. When the “For Sale” sign was first hung around 2 years ago, I knew my days at Hot Spot would be numbered. But, those days always seemed prolonged. Now that it will be closed permanently within the month it is difficult. Change is inevitable, but it doesn’t make it any less devastating. Thank you for years of good food and kindness.
