The location was spotless, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Our food came out super fast and was absolutely delicious. We were craving authentic Cajun flavors and seafood, and this place completely delivered.
We ordered so much food—and somehow the three of us finished everything because it was just that good. That’s how you know it was worth it!
We highly recommend stopping by, especially if you’re visiting Louisiana and want a relaxing, high-quality dining experience.
Upon entering, the very courteous staff immediately sat the 4 of us in a booth, gave us menus, and took our drink orders. Our server, Channel, was very polite and helpful explaining the menu and her recommendations. The only disappointing part of restaurant, is that they didn’t have crawfish due to being the very beginning of the season. The other boil houses did.
We went with a shrimp saga (1lb of shrimp and a half pound of snow crab), and the fried seafood sampler basket with catfish, hush puppies, a jalapeños popper, fried oysters, fried shrimp, and Cajun fries. For an appetizer we got the calamari. We also got 6 raw oysters.
First off, the calamari isn’t quite what we expected so I’d give it 3 stars. The raw oysters were excellent! The Cajun seasoning was laced in and out of the shrimp sage and it was absolutely delicious!!! This is what we have been searching for. It is hands down the best seasoning and food we have had since arriving in New Orleans!!! It was lights out. The catfish was lightly breaded and slightly softer than what we were used too (we like it fried longer) but it tasted great! Every thing was worth 5 stars.
Our server Channell, is being trained and her service was hands down the best we have had since we have been here. Her attention to detail, outgoing demeanor, just makes you feel welcomed and cared for. You can’t train her attitude in people, and that’s unfortunate!
I can’t recommend Hot N Cajun enough. The service is fantastic, the food is by far the most flavorful we have had in 3 days. Check this place out!
2nd- Place is very much like any other boiled seafood chain. It was good, prices were kind of high, considering you can get Real Louisiana seafood in 300 other places in this city for less. Would we return? No.
Food- Good, but nothing special.
The Gator bites were horrible.
The gumbo was mediocre, but definitely from a mix.
The boil, cooked well! Flavors mediocre. The House Cajun blend was our choice. Very lacking in the Cajun department and carried zero resemblance to the flavors of a real Cajun boil.
