Hot Lava Bakery offers a great atmosphere, perfectly fitting for the Sunriver area. The pastries and coffee are great, but the cakes are even better! Cecilia helped us with our gender reveal cake for our first baby and we could have not asked for a better experience. She was great to brainstorm with and quickly delivered us a magical cake for such a special moment.

I’m obsessed with this place. It is SO good! This will be our first stop on our next trip to Sunriver. The bigfoots are so funny and good! The chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I’ve ever had. The Oreo cupcake is also amazing. Honestly everything is good here.

I can’t express my gratitude to Hot Lava Bakery! We had a VERY last minute, LARGE request….they pulled it off! The quality was amazing. The selection had everything you could imagine. Everyone had their favorite! Our send off party was a hit! And the pastries were the a sweet bonus for a bittersweet goodbye. Thank you again!!!!!

Excellent breakfast sandwiches and pastries! Sandwiches are made fresh and to-order, so they can take a while. But your patience will be well paid off! We got the Mountain Man Sandwich on a Croissant (ham, sausage, bacon, cheddar, egg, onion and chipotle sauce, $12.50) and a Lava Sandwich on a Cheese Bagel (ham, egg, cheddar, red onion and jalapeños, $11.75). Holy heck, they were totally worth the price and tasted awesome. The Lava Sandwich was full of jalapenos that did give a lil bit of a kick, so beware! Of course, I had to grab some sweets, we picked up the iconic Big Foot Donut ($3.75) Dulce de Leche Turnover ($3.75) and a Marionberry Strudel ($5.50). While they were all delicious, the strudel by far was the best! It’s a huge piece completely stuffed with sweet marionberry sauce enveloped in beautifully flaky pastry. My new favorite! 10/10 recommend.

I ordered a custom cake and brown butter chocolate chip cookies from Hot Lava Bakery for a party, and everything exceeded expectations! The ordering process was seamless— the team was incredibly knowledgeable, communicative, and helpful from start to finish. Our order was ready exactly when promised, and they even coordinated local delivery, which was super convenient and handled perfectly.
The cake was both stunning in presentation and absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and beautifully done. The cookies were a 10/10—perfectly chewy with that amazing brown butter flavor.

My Dad always raved about this place and we went in on my last trip yo get some fritters and a cake for his birthday. Everything was incredibly delicious and all the doughnuts were huge. I will return every time I am in Sunriver from now on.

The lattes (best around, by far) are only part of the story. Delicious baked goods. Cupcakes, cinnamon buns, donuts etc…are all exceptionally well done. Have tried a couple of the sandwiches too, and they are really outstanding!!! My fave is the Broken Top. There may be a line up when you visit (it’s that kind of good), but it moves quickly. Staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Bonus: lots of parking and seating inside and out.

Such a fantastic little bakery! We ate here two mornings during our Sunriver trip and I was sad I didn’t get a chance to try every one of their delicious pastries. Breakfast sandwiches were good, but the turnovers and scones were AMAZING! I’m always on the lookout for an amazing scone and the pecan cranberry scone exceeded all my expectations. We also loved the fruit smoothies (make sure to get some sugar in it, as it’s straight fruit!). One thing to note is that it is very small and there is super limited seating inside, so unless it’s summer and you want to sit outdoors, you should probably plan to take your food to go.

Very convenient in the Sunriver village and nice to support a local spot. The pastries were large and fresh. We ordered breakfast sandwiches as well and they were warm and filling. They had all the coffee options hot and cold. We were in early so there was no wait at the counter.
