This place is pure nostalgia. It’s been a long minute since I had a corndog here. I was at the mall recently and decided to get lunch at the food court. Hot Dog on a Stick instantly caught my eye after all these years. The classic made-to-order corndogs and the hand-stomped lemonade are hard to resist.

I ordered the 2-for-$7.99 deal and a cherry lemonade. I picked one beef and one original turkey corndog. The first bite brought back memories. The cornmeal coating was fried perfectly with a slight crisp. My favorite was the beef corndog, but the turkey is enjoyable as well.

The lemonade now has a variety to choose from. The cherry lemonade was refreshing and sweet. I noticed there was a limited-time Dragonfruit version, which I hope to try soon.

The staff was kind and provided quick service. It wasn’t too busy during lunch, so my order was ready within five minutes. The food court dining area is clean and spacious, with plenty of tables and seating.

Other nice features for this business:
– Party Packs and catering options
– Online ordering through the website
– On-site fundraising opportunities

I always like to come here to get the “Lite” Lemonade, but I like to add the cherry flavoring. I’m trying to watch my calories and the different between is huge without that much of a taste tradeoff. I went about 2 weeks ago. And the lady at the counter wouldn’t make it for me. It’s not that they didn’t have the lite lemonade or the cherry, she says she was told that she couldn’t since the cherry had sugar in it. I told her I was well aware, but it is indeed what I wanted and was willing to pay the $1.00 extra for the cherry flavor.. But, she then had to ask her manager for some crazy reason, which was confusing. The manager told her to make tmmit as ordered and we were good to go, Albeit with the unnecessary delay. I then went back a week later, like last week, to get my lemonade fix, and this time, there was a guy who said the “lite” lemonade was discontinued or something about phasing out, which I learned was not the case. Not sure what’s going on, but I just stopped coming. I get it, theyre a bunch of young high school/college kids, so expectations are on the lower side, but come on! On the plus side, I found a decent dupe recipe on Reddit and now I make it at home.

Amazing service from Cassandra and Penelope today! They made sure to make me feel welcomed even as a booth food court location, and they even checked if the ice levels in my drink were okay with me, something I’ve never been asked before! A++

Hot Dog on a Stick is known for its signature menu item, the hot dog on a stick. It features a delicious hot dog, impaled on a wooden stick, dipped in a cornmeal batter, and deep-fried until golden brown. The result is a crispy, savory hot dog on a stick that is often enjoyed with a variety of condiments like mustard and ketchup. In addition to hot dogs, the chain also offers other items like lemonade, cheese on a stick, and funnel cakes. Hot Dog on a Stick is known for its fun, carnival-like atmosphere and iconic striped uniforms. So good!

Smells TERRIBLE in there. The sewage water smell is very strong. It’s been MONTHS since this has been happening and nothing has changed. I feel bad for the employees there, having nothing done to fix it. It’s not good for their health at all, starting to question if that can affect the food.

You know what you’re getting into when you get yourself some Hot Dog on a Stick. Pulled up for the lemonade and like always it didn’t disappoint. They had some Hot Cheeto type Corn Dog but I didn’t wanna get the runs so I didn’t try it. Come and get yourself some of that lemonade on a hot day, can’t beat it!

Childhood nostalgia, come here for a boost of it if you haven’t been recently. Still the same old menu with turkey corn dog, all beef corn dog, and a veggie dog (Ok, maybe the veggie is the newer item). The lemonade now has 3 flavors and I never seem to see two girls making the lemonade outside by pumping each other out like the old days.

Sigh.

However, the lemonades here are still good and we bought one of those reusable cups which you can get a refill for $2.00 all year long. Only thing is, the lemonades taste is not consistent. Sometimes you get the oily version which I love and sometimes you get the very watered down version which looks the same but doesn’t taste as good.

Parking is easier around the back of the mall as if you’re going to dine by Cheesecake or Watch a movie at Harkins. The next Hot Dog on a stick location is at Santa Ana Mall which is way too far for a blast to the past. Look for free hot dog days or reduce $0.70 price days by following HDOAS on social media.

Oh, and I think the workers here are great. They have lots of character and will brighten your day here.

It’s so hard to find a classic Hot Dog on a Stick these days! I was so sad to see our local ones all closed down.
