If you want a nice easy, cooked with care lunch, you need to stop in here. They have all kinds of hot dogs, burgers, fries and onion rings. All made with care by one of the two brothers that own the place.
If you want to keep your dollars local and enjoy a fantastic lunch in a kitschy kind of old fashioned diner/restaurant, stop in and see the guys. They will share stores of how the family has owned the place for decades. They explained to me the three types of snowbirds that visit Sarasota, and how they shop and eat. Ask them their opinion for a lively conversation.
I’ll make sure I pass this place more often. Today was my first time in, but it won’t be my last.
Give them a shot. My hot dog was perfectly cooked. And the fries were tasty and yummy.

Was missing MI coney dogs. The chili sauce was not quite what I was use to, but it was good. The owner was very nice and told me the history of the restaurant. Hidden treasure.

I was visiting a friend and uttered the phrase, “Hot Diggity Dog”…
…and he said there was a restaurant with that name down the street!
So when it came time to eat… we drove over
Only to see it was closed…
We went the next day AND it was awesome…
I had the chili cheese dog WITH onions…
Even got a brief history from the owners son (I think )…
IF you are ever in the area… I would highly recommend Hot Diggity Dog

I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. The brothers who own the restaurant (Robert and Andy) have been incredibly friendly to me. Robert, the one behind the counter, made me a delicious chili cheese dog, another with sauerkraut, and a burger. I devoured them all in roughly 5 minutes.
Please come here and support this local business where the food is prepared with love, and the service and ambience make you feel like you’re dining with your own family.

I normally don’t post anything bad but this was just like how are you still open type thing. I went in for the first and last time. The dinning area smelled like mold and was just dirty. I ordered and then owner told me it was slow so he has a limited menu so I ordered my food. Let’s just say I’m never going back his chili dog which he says is known for I didnt even eat. The burger was just as bad . The fries were so oily that it seeped through the wax paper and into and through 7 napkins. Eat at your own risk. This place would be so much better if he took pride in what he sold and had higher quality product. Its way overpriced also $22 for chili dog burger coke and fries. Won’t go back

Soggy,sloppy,unremarkable toppings.
Essence of dog and a coke almost $7.00.
An embarrassment to this Coney Island style joint.

Tried and true local classic! I stopped by after seeing Hot Diggity Dog was open and it’s still just as good as I remember years ago when I would stop by after high school. Quick, friendly personal service, extra parking and plenty of seating. Try a Coney Dog!

One and done! Dingy atmosphere, unclean smell, food was very bland, NO BATHROOMS (health code violation?)
Charged us $34 for 4 chili dogs, 1 order of fries, 3 cans of Coke. Has all the appeal of a place ready to shut down at any moment.
