We were pleasantly surprised to have had such a truly great experience dining at the Murrysville PA Hoss’s. The wait was not very long and “Sommer” who welcomed us and put our name on the setting list, was exceptionally kind and considerate to us. The food was delicious. We had the salad bar, which was loaded with “sooooo” many good fresh vegetables and a ton of other food items that came with the salad bar. We had the large fantail fried shrimp and baked potato along with our salad bar. The freshly baked with yeast dinner rolls were “out of this world” good with a heavily aroma that filled the air. Our hostess was “Paige” who was beyond considerate, friendly, and kind. The cost of all of the items with had for dinner was at a unbelievable low price. It is wonderful to see so many entire families and groups of friends enjoying the good wonderful atmosphere at Hoss’s. We will defiantly return to the Murrysville PA Hoss’s in the very soon ! Thank you Hoss’s for a great dining experience.

To say that this place is not what it used to be is an understatement. We were seated right away to only wait for our drinks for almost 10 minutes while I watched five people stand around the soda machine. I also saw 2 people standing in the lobby for a long while waiting to be seated who also had the same experience with waiting for everything else. I had waited for 20 minutes for my food which was mid at best. My girlfriend had also waited for 20 minutes for them to restock the buffet. When they restocked they had only restocked 2 things. The Mac and cheese was more of a cold soup. And the ham she had gotten had literal ice in it. All of the food we had tasted was over seasoned to make up for the fact it is dry. Looking around the salad bar was a baron wasteland. (I would like to add we left an hour and a half before they closed and they were not busy by any means)

Hoss’s was a very middle of the road experience with mostly good traits, but nothing overwhelming.
The main entree I decided on was the 1/2lb burger. It features 2 patties pressed flattop style. While it was plenty juicy and the flavor was good the sear was too long making the outside hard and difficult to chew. This came with battered onion rings which were cooked perfectly.
I chose not to order steak because I felt the price point for the quantity was off and I knew I could get a better cut for less elsewhere.
The salad bar was well stocked, and although the items were located sometimes in non-ideal places, they were fresh and good.
Unfortunately the overall atmosphere is very tired. The ranch / rustic style is fine, however this one is straight out of the 80s and in desperate need of an update, this includes the bathroom. To be clear, the restaurant was VERY clean and well maintained, just outdated.
Our son loved it here, and if you have children that crave dessert bars and chicken tenders yours will too.
Overall if you are in need of large portions and quick but solid service, this could be the place for you. However, if atmosphere and exceedingly good quality are your preference you may want to pass.

First timie going here! I love that prices are so great compared to others! Being a mom of 8 kids I know good deals when I see one and this is GREAT and affordable meal prices for kids menu. Plus the salad, nacho, soup, dessert bar are fabulous!! The kids will definitely get full here, so worth the cheap affordable prices!! Adult meal plates look good and appealing I got a steak. Only thing though, this was the whole reason we went there was because I wanted steak. And my husband wanted somewhere new so we gave this a go! Was a great choice to visit

I’ve loved coming here for many many years but the new remodel completely ruins the experience. There are blinding white LED lights over the booths that make it painful to look up from your plate even far enough to make eye contact and converse with the people sitting across from you. I won’t be coming back until they are toned down and set to a different color. Bring back cozy dimmer yellow lights for dinner! This isn’t an operating room!

Courtney was our waitress and she was the best- our food was hot and fast! Best service because of her. We had a great family experience in Valentine’s Day! Thanks Courtney!

I live locally, but hadn’t been to this Hoss’s for 10 years. Won’t be going back anytime soon. Maybe my expectations are too high.
Salad bar (why i went) was avg. Bag lettuce picked over with some brown pieces. Some items were empty. Pasta/potato salad was avg. Chicken bowl ordered from menu was good.
Solid 2.5 / 5

Great food, good service and overall great experience each time I go! I will say when it is dinner time, it gets busy and sometimes the salad bar is a bit low. They are very quick to refill it and always have someone walking around. Very clean too!

We came here for dinner and got the salad bar. $13 and it wasn’t even worth $5. The carrots were frozen yet put on the salad bar. The dressings weren’t labeled and we had to ask a worker to tell us what was what. There was a list on the sneeze guard with the dressings but it was faded and missing quite a few. The nacho bar was unappealing. The chips were broken into pieces and never replenished. The bread was hard and also never replenished. There were several empty bins on the salad bar. We felt like we didn’t get out money’s worth with everything either frozen and inedible, never replenished, or just missing bins. Hoss’s used to have a great salad bar, it’s went downhill. Server was friendly though.
