We came in for lunch and were the only people but had a very nice experience. Sushi was one of the best rolls I’ve had in a while, it was the angel hair roll with added mango. I also got the krab rangoon (it goes by something different on the menu, but that’s what it is essentially) and that was also good.

Hoshi Sushi is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The sushi here is some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten at countless sushi spots across the United States. It’s easily in my top 3!
We ordered the Yum Yum Roll, the Philly Roll, and the chicken fried rice—everything was top-notch, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delight, and the presentation was beautiful.
We’re already planning our next visit (and the ones after that) before we head home. If you’re in the area and love sushi, Hoshi Sushi is a must-try. You won’t be disappointed! ✨

Best sushi in Sarasota! Amazed by this family owned, local restaurant. The fish is also super fresh and of excellent quality. They do Omikase that you will never forget and will return for over and over again. Everything is always delicious. Be sure to try the Salmon belly, hamachi, toro and scallop nigiri! We often eat by “Kevin’s choice” and always have a mix of very unique and delicious sushi and sashimi options.
Whenever we are back in Sarasota, we visit Kevin and Star (his wife and restaurant manager) within the first few days.
Kevin is a master sushi chef. The restaurant is non-assuming and casual. However, the sushi is 5-star, all around.
Think of the equivalent of French Laundry as a sushi restaurant, but in a strip mall in Sarasota, Florida.
Kevin’s sushi, from taste to presentation, could easily win awards, and is a work of art.

Best sushi in town…AND THE FRESHEST-seriously. The staff treat you like family and are so friendly. They are very educated about gluten sensitive and celiac diets and have many options(I like the yellowtail and Alaska rolls), and yes they have Tamari! It’s our go-to spot. Clean plate club everytime 🙂 Definitely a place to visit and return to often. Thankyou!!! See you next week, probably haha <3 SERVICE IS SO GOOD, SHE IS AMAZING.

My family and I just dined here tonight because of the favorable reviews and we were not disappointed !! The sushi was so.e of the freshest and best I have had in awhile all of it just melted in my mouth. The sushi chef definitely knows what he is doing! This is apparently a family business and we were treated extremely well. If we get a chance to go again we will!! It’s a small place and we ate early so it was very relaxing and nor crowded. There are a bunch of sushi places around all have fairly good reviews but this is a gem! Thank you for the great meal.
