Chilly evening after leaving Wright Patterson AFB. Coworker and I wanted to get steak but the Texas Roadhouse was crowded. Our instant second decision was RAMEN! We travel ALOT. A good bowl of RAMEN is good for the soul. No wait to get seated at about 530pm. I ordered the Tonkatsu with extra Chashu. I eat alot of Ramen when I travel for work. It’s lighter and sits well after a long 10 hour day of work and you don’t feel like over full. Man O Man. It was tasty. Extra soft boiled egg for me EVERYTIME. Chashu was interesting, as most places slice it but they give you nice thick square chunks. The broth!!! Can I get a cup of it to go! Very good. Noodles perfectly tender, mushrooms on point, like the seaweed! (I buy seaweed snacks often when I am driving between my sites, a better snack than potato chips, just my opinion). Clean restaurant, good music in the background and they were playing Anime on the TV screen. Server was prompt, polite and courteous. First time in Dayton Ohio, very surprised. Being from Idaho, I was thinking it was going to be like a big city but it’s not! Polite people, and awesome RAMEN. Here for another 2 weeks definitely going back to try a different bowl! HOSHI RAMEN has a fan!!!!!!

I’ve tried on 3 different occasions to like this place and I come to the same conclusion every time. It’s just okay. I feel like the broth has little to no flavor. It was just very salty each time. And don’t get me wrong I love salt. I’ve heard other dishes are good here too but I’ve only had the ramen and always felt kind of disappointed. I had the bao buns the first time and those were good, might be worth going back for those. However, there are places in dayton now that put heart and soul into their ramen and unfortunately this place doesn’t feel on the same level. It’s not inedible but I don’t think I’ll be back. There might be different kinds of ramen on their menu that are better but the three I tried weren’t it. Real Score: 4.6/10

Worst Tonkatsu broth I’ve ever had. No flavor whatsoever. The ramen noodles were ok and was lowkey one of the most flavored things in that bowl. The egg sucked, not much flavor. The bao buns themselves were good, but the pork was reminded us too much of tuna rather then pork. It wasn’t a slice of pork but this soft pulled pork?? Never had that before and i see why. The Kaarage bun was fine though and the best thing was the Chasu fries, just get em to go or something. Just go to Speakeasy ramen if you can, they are at least a bit better than this place.

Super yummy! The food was really good, I got the miso soup and it was made very well. Little pricey, however. Our server was very sweet and I really liked the Stardew valley music playing! Nice ambiance.

We ordered miso ramen and their spicy ramen and both were delicious. We also ordered their chashu fries and that was good too. They have boardgames so my husband and I played Battleship while waiting for our food. I also love that their women’s bathroom has a freestanding changing table so it was easy to give my baby a diaper change.

Overall, it’s a great place with great food. It’s the perfect place to go on a cold rainy day!

A decent place near Wright State. Their Bao and Croquettes were excellent. I would definitely get them. Their Ramen was decent and had a good flavor. The staff were friendly and polite. The service was good. They also have some board games in the restaurant as well. The ambiance was good.

I’ve been looking for good ramen in this area and stumbled across Hoshi Ramen on TikTok—so glad I did. The service was superb, the atmosphere was clean and welcoming, and I didn’t have to wait long at all for my food. What really made the experience stand out was Alex! He wasn’t even my server, but his customer service was absolutely amazing. My server, Shade, was also so attentive and on point the entire time.

Shout out to the guys at Hoshi! And a huge shout out to Alex—I hope your move is seamless. May God bless you, rockstar ⭐️

This is the closest ramen place to my home, and I am so excited that it was great food for affordable prices! We got the Tonkotsu and Tantanmen ramen, a Tempura starter, and a couple different mochi for desert. The atmosphere was great, simple but cozy designs, and there was a nice looking bar and a variety of drink options. The employees were very nice and clearly took pride in their service because they were running around and very thorough in keeping the place clean. We asked to move tables at one point to better see the tv and our server not only wiped down the new table but also wiped the chairs!

The food was delicious but this is the first time I’ve ever been served ramen without it being steaming hot. The broth was warm, the noodles were hot, and the toppings were cold. I wish it all would’ve been hot, but the flavor was still good. The pork in the tonkotsu was a bit too charred, but the tantanmen was absolutely delicious. The tempura was also great. The mocha had a bit of frost on the outside, but still great. I highly recommend the mango flavor if they have it! For two ramens with extra eggs, five pieces of tempura, and 3 mochi I paid roughly $60, which I feel is a great price for food on the fancy side, plus left overs.

Today was our first time trying this place, and we’re so glad we did. The food is delicious, the portions are just right, the flavor is exquisite, and there’s a great variety. The best part was the service; the waitress was very friendly and gave us the best recommendations. 100% recommended!
