This is, in fact, the greatest bar in the USA. The greatest bartender in the known universe, Erica, and his trusty sidekick, Kyle, know how make a simple time good and a good time great. Everything from the atmosphere to the pour delivers on a level known little this day in age. I truly recommend, from what is my humble opinion, is THIS place in which you arrive and stay a while. Stay for the plop in the glass, the friends at the rim, and music which makes it perfect. This is perfection, this is euphoria, this is the place. The place where dreams become reality, where heartache becomes love, the place where no matter what, you have a friend just a few feet away saying ‘why not have another?’ and you indulge in THE memory that lasts forever. You must be here, you must experience the truth that is THE Horseshoe cafe. You will stand arm in arm, brothers in arms, and live the truth your soul desperately desires. A great place for lunch, happy hour, last call, whatever. I had the Habenero chicken wings which proved to be very spicy and very crispy. The blue cheese is thick and chunky, almost too thick and chunky, as it makes it difficult to dip your wings in there.
Good beer selection, but not overwhelmingly over the top. It’s difficult to get lunch and a beer for less than $20, which seems expensive to me, but I am just that way.

Menu is plentiful with options for everyone. Quesidillas are super yummy. Good selection of beers on tap and drinks are there for the asking.

A true local with friendly patrons and the best bartenders. Pool table, great juke box, good selection of tap beers. I haven’t ever had the food but it looks good. What more could you want? The Shoe is a classic and staple of the Fairfield community.

Great local bar without any local attitude! Easy access from Southport train station as well. Great jukebox, pool table, and darts (bring your own as the ones there are a little thrashed) and great food. A neighborhood gem – like Martinis’s from “It’s a Wonderful Life”!

Photos don’t do this place justice. Monday night they allow anyone to showcase their music talent for 15 mins and most these people can sing and play instruments very well. This is a relief from usual bar playing Pandora or other music apps. Nothing beats live music when it’s good.
