we drive by here all the time and finally made a stop in for dinner. we came in on a saturday night and it wasn’t too busy and we’re seated quickly.
the restaurant is super cute and cozy. we ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer and it was great! everything you want in a basket of cheese curds.
we shared the fish and chips and got the haddock and cod to try both. i personally liked the cod better and my wife enjoyed the haddock more. both delicious and crispy. the coleslaw was great and the tartar sauce was the cherry on top for the fish.
for dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding and that was delicious as well! we could’ve eaten two of them.
overall, our time here was great. our server was professional and friendly. we’d definitely come again to try other items on their menu.

Yes! This is the place to eat for serious eaters of all food to seriously eat. Plus I hear BBQ coming soon. I am new to this area and was paired and played golf with an English / British Air Force veteran. He said “Tim if you want the best fish & chip go to Horse Power Pavilion.” Fresh and delicious flaky hunk of cod served with a pile of fresh cut potato fries. Fresh & delicious Cole slaw. And tartar sauce I was finger scooping and eating by itself. Love the capers! I second guessed the pizza until more guests wandered in and ordered. I was already full but I will be back for that! And the burgers… And the Italian cuisine dishes etc! It’s a 40 mins drive from PCB but I recommend to go for this treat. This place really has a vision unlike any I have seen for cuisine: love it!
Side note for BBQ when it comes. Some (not many) love the Eastern Carolina style bbq. It’s in the sauce and very few bbq joints offer at least the sauce. Look it up and try some blends. Apple cider vinegar is the starter. Even in a small batch will send this foodie over the top! Pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw & soaked in vinegar sauce…hint, hint .

A great locally owned and operated restaurant. Friendly service with sometimes a love band/music. The outdoor area makes for a perfect afternoon dinner and sunset.
The prices were fair and the pizza…..delicious!
Let me say this is place is close to it. The crust had some nice charring on it giving it a little crunch all while the inside of the dough still soft. Not sure what cheese was used but it paired perfectly with the crust. We visited from what seemed like the owners birthday. Watching her interact with her guests gave the impression that she is a loved person in this community. This is a unique place to visit and a great place for dinner. Definitely a must visit if you’re close by. Dont take my word for it…go visit this place and support locally owned businesses!!

Another great visit to this fine establishment! I love this place. We decided to go for lunch today, and we were again so happy that we did. The service here is incredible, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is so comfortable and friendly. We love chatting with the owner, she’s great. We had the pretzel with beer cheese (awesome), a meat lovers pizza (awesome), and a charcuterie pizza. Having never had nor heard of a charcuterie pizza before, this was a very pleasant surprise, and I’m eating a piece right now as I’m writing this review. (Awesome). Definitely visiting again.

Excellent food, location and service. Went for the fish and chips and they didn’t disappoint. Went also had the fried mozzarella sticks and stuffed mozzarella bread and it was delicious. The staff were great, the patio is very serene and relaxing and the live music was icing on the cake. It’s a great place and highly recommended!

TLDR: There may be more than one restaurant on site, which we found confusing. We did enjoy our meal at Hamilton’s Bistro. It is a small menu, but tasty.
We had looked up Horse Power Pavillion online, and the menu we saw at the Bistro did not match the one online. However, I think there are more restaurants onsite, or possibly planned for the future. The menu was smaller than we anticipated.
The Bistro is cute and comfortable. We went for a late lunch, and it was pretty slow. We ordered an appetizer of Meatballs, spaghetti bolongnese, and a cheese pizza. Portions are generous, and the meatballs were my favorite. My husband and I did enjoy our main dishes. It does not appear they have fountain sodas, we received bottles/cans of soda and a glass of ice (which worked for us). Our food came out quickly and piping hot.
I do recommend, as long as you view the Bistro menu ahead of time (if that’s how you roll). The venue itself (Horse Power Pavillion) hosts live music, which we plan to check out in the future.

This is a truly unique place. The food was excellent—we had the burger and the fish and chips. I can confidently say that the fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had. After dinner, we went outside where the band, Below Alabama, was playing. We had a wonderful evening and I would highly recommend trying this place out!

Been there twice for British Rock Night. Last year was fantastic. The rock band played all the right stuff. Pink Floyd, the who, ACDC, etc. But last night all the band seemed to want to play was Fleetwood Mac. A lot of people left early and we left at 9.30pm, before we fell asleep.
Please bring back who was there last year.

We LOVED this place. We dropped in for a birthday lunch and found a beautiful, inviting bistro with an incredibly impressive pavilion outside. The owner was attentive, friendly and hilarious. We felt like we walked right into a family — one that could COOK! We absolutely had to try the pizzas after spying them a table away, and the chicken pesto was to die for. The broccoli cheddar soup and Monte Cristo croissant were fantastic! The portions were excellent and everything was fresh and obviously made with love. We want to come back for fish and chips and to check out the live music! Hidden gem in Freeport, so glad we stopped in.
