My husband & I went in on a recommendation & we didn’t even finish half our food before leaving. The service was extremely slow, the staff very surly & unsmiling. My husband ordered a double burger – one patty was almost charcoal & the other patty barely cooked. They didn’t even ask how he wanted it cooked. And who puts shredded cheese on a burger? I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. It was awful. Not worth the $24!!!!! that took 20 minutes for us to get. They should be ashamed & I will be telling everyone not to go.

Lobby was closed, only had fries, onion rings and mozz sticks out of all the sides listed. My cheeseburger looked as if it was several pieces of meat just pieced together and was still pink, I also ordered a 32 oz Pepsi and got a can of Pepsi with a 12 oz cup of Pepsi which was very gross. My husband ordered a dbl cheeseburger which was pink in the middle as well. Definitely will not be visiting this establishment again…..very disappointing!

This is a great local hamburger joint. Horizon’s is a hidden gem of Topeka. Their hamburgers are fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and care about the costumer. It is a bit cold inside, but there is seating outside.

It’s a hit and miss kind of place. I ordered chicken strips and got 3 pieces of chicken cut off a breast, cooked to death, just like the fries. We usually ask who’s cooking, if it’s the really young guy, run, don’t even bother.

The worst meal I paid for in years!
Chicken fried steak and a small drink, $11+.
It wasn’t fit to eat! The “chicken fried steak” was so hard the plastic forks just crumbeled the knife wouldn’t cut it, the gravy was like wallpaper paste, the potatoes and green beans were ” ok”. But the rest of the meal made the whole experience discusstig!

When I did my non commercial burger tour, horizons was good but the most expensive of the four places (prize package, burger company, and chuckburger). The burger was great. Side (fried mushrooms) needed some refining. Price, fill factor, service, and taste…I ranked it 2 of 4 non commercial burger places.

Excellent food but even in the Drive-Thru it seems like and you sit there forever. Slow service, good food.
