** Updated: The place is inconsistent. I have had a great filet, but also had one overcooked. I have been paying 40% tip every time because they added it on. I mean, I guess the bartender was happy. Yeah, it says it on the menu, but I glazed over it because I see that for parties of 8 or more or whatever, not for a singe person sitting at the bar. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I think they did away with that. Sometimes they have really good bread, but now it isn’t as good. I love the atmosphere, but when you spend $100 on a meal and a coupe of drinks, it needs to be amazing. I am probably done with it for now. Maybe in a year I’ll give it a go again. The pictures below are the best meals I have had. I didn’t take pictures of the ones that weren’t as good. I really wanted it to do well, but I don’t know. I wish I got to go to it when it was a French restaurant. I heard it was amazing.

Ordered black cod which was very good. The spinach that came with it was very salty. My wife ordered the Wagu beef ribeye and it was prepared like a Burger King whopper. It was charred so much that you really couldn’t taste the meat. We were with a group of people so I didn’t want to bring negativity to a very pleasant dinner and figured I would just call them the next day in which I did. I called the following day left a message. No return call. So I called the next day. This time I spoke with a person on the phone, whom was very nice, but said that they could do nothing about it because it was not brought up at the dinner which I thought was very odd. I have restaurant background and I know whenever I see somebody hasn’t eaten hardly any of their meal I ask questions on why. As a cook or a chef this is what we are trained to watch for. The server saw that we were taking home the majority of the ribeye and the question should have presented itself but it didn’t. Reason for the 1 star is as good as the other food was, the 90$ ribeye was just that bad and they should have taken care of the portion of the bill or offered the value of that badly charred steak of a credit or gift card.

We have gone to Hopwood House a handful of times and always have a very pleasant experience. Though each time it has been just short of my 5 star expectations for a fine dining establishment. The food flavors missed the mark on our first visit, but everything we ordered was exceptional on our last visit. However, the service was a little disappointing on our last visit (more attention and fresh silverware between courses would be much appreciated). On two occasions we requested a standard low table when making the reservations, but this was not honored when we arrived at the restaurant. Tiffany is fantastic and makes incredible cocktails! We have had delicious and beautiful craft cocktails on multiple visits making the bar a huge hit in my opinion. Unfortunately, our drinks were not good on another visit when Tiffany was not working. With just a few tweaks and more consistency, I look forward to Hopwood House becoming our go-to fine dining spot.

Tonya, our waitress, was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The chef also stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The menu had plenty of options and the food was top tier. 5 star experience without question. We will be back again!

Be aware of all the print!!! Gratuity tip is added to your meal automatically. Stated on menu. But we didnt look at the menu and just ordered the specials shown on facebook. So we ended up tipping our 20% on top of our included gratuity when i called about it they said i had to speak with the manager…when i spoke with the manager he said it was on the menu and i needed to come in to further discuss….why waste my time as they should have just offered a gift card!!!wont go back !!!!

I’ve wanted to visit this location for years. I always seemed to miss the chance before it would change hands. I’m glad I waited because the meal was wonderful. So many offerings of unique appetizers. We could have made an evening just sharing the generous portions. My cocktail was the first time in so long that was made with a kick! Something hard to find today. Everything garnished with creativity and all tasted so fresh. Such a nice touch for the chef to introduce himself. Our waitress Rhonda was so professional and on point with our needs. Favorites were the baked oysters! Had to order a second round! Had my leftover salmon the next day and tasted twice as good! We will be back and have already began to spread the word!

I don’t know where to start. The restaurant is a beautiful setting. And the staff was fantastic. They kept the table clear, super friendly, and very welcoming. The food was fabulous, super delicious. And I can say this, I’m definitely going back. I highly recommend the sausage gravy and biscuit. And he got the fish omelet. Super delicious.

The place is absolutely charming whether sitting inside or out. The menu changes ever so often. The chef stops by to check on you, and sometimes the owner; this restaurant cares about your experience. The meal is always great. Yes, it costs more, especially for the area and that’s because it’s worth more.
