Welcome to the hen house! At Hops & Hen, we’ve taken local brewers spices and hops, mixed it into our brine and batter, then sealed all the flavors in for a crispy and perfectly tender chicken strip. Hops & Hens has a casual, approachable feel with a fun environment, giving nods to being inside the hen house with colorful ‘picnic’ style plaids and rooster napkin holders. Pair all this with lawn games such as Jenga, Connect Four and Washers while enjoying a breathtaking view of Downtown Dallas.

Reviews
Love the location—plenty to see and do nearby. Enjoyed the outdoor dining and view. Will be back to try the other sauces for the tenders and possibly the loaded tots.
Parking options: street/meter, garage or valet as this is attached to OMNI hotel.
*Suggestion: OMNI should really get phone numbers associated with their restaurants on property so individuals can order via phone. I also didn’t see an option to order online through the linked website. Some things to consider.
The chicken was so salty you definitely didn’t need the sauce
Both of our salads was drenched in dressing
The mac & cheese, they should’ve just called it mac and water
I’m sorry I would not recommend just trying to be honest
The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating, and I personally prefer the outdoor area when the weather is nice.
However, my only complaint is their slow ordering system. Everyone has to line up at the bar counter to order, and during lunch breaks, the line can stretch out the door. This is a significant issue, especially in such a high-traffic area near the convention center, and it’s something that should be addressed.

✅ What Works Well
– Crispy, juicy fried chicken is the highlight—classic Southern style with good seasoning.
– Craft beer selection pairs well with the menu and adds to the casual vibe.
– Quick service and relaxed, clean space—good for a low-key lunch or dinner.
– Sides like mac & cheese and coleslaw are solid complements.
—
What to Watch Out For
– Limited menu—mostly focused on chicken and a few sides.
– Not ideal for vegetarians or non-chicken eaters.
– Depending on location, seating may be tight or limited.
– Can feel more fast-casual than full dine-in experience.

Verdict
Great spot when you’re craving no-frills fried chicken and a cold beer. It’s not fancy, but it delivers on flavor and comfort.
