A great neighborhood bar where anyone and everyone goes to have a drink. They have fish on Fridays that are super tasty. All the bartenders are honest, funny, and personal. If you want to feel at home, this bar is the place to be.

Great local bar with the best bartenders in the area. If you want to experience what real Elgin is like, look no further than Hoppes! They have Fish Fry on Fridays but I’ve never had it but I want to. The owners are great and their sexy son, Chad, works some nights and is great eye candy for the ladies. If you want a bartender that serves up honesty along with great drinks, Jimmy is your man. He’s brutally honest so ask him to roast you for a good time. He once referred to a customer as the Vampire of Fun and he was spot on. Tiffany is a ball of energy, whose spirit is infectious. If you’re having a bad day, go during her shifts and she’ll pick you up immediately. Gale is the last bartender I’ve interacted with who works there. He’s a cool calm dude who can tell you some of the most interesting facts of the area. He’s also a caterer and a butcher when not at the bar. Theres someone for everyone here and if you’re in from out of town or just traveling through, have a stop at Hoppes just so you can say you’ve been there.

Had an amazing experience the energy and atmosphere was refreshing had a long day at work decided to go here to relax and enjoy a few drinks and overall this was a great choice I immediately forgot about the long day I had and had a long conversation with a customer employees were all very nice and professional making sure everything was taken care of also the lighting and seating area were clean and exceptional I enjoyed every minute and every dime spent was well worth it customer service was on point as a first time customer I experienced no delays and enjoy the visit so much I left a 20 dollar tip thanks for being so nice and polite while also working to satisfy everyone who came in I’ll return soon and will most definitely refer anyone who is looking for a place like this to just have a little peace and a few cold ones

Best neighborhood bar in the area. Family owned. Service excellent. Friday fish fry perfect and priced well. Wednesday burger night all burgers to order also priced well. I recommend this establishment. My go to place. Stop in after a hard day work you’ll be happy. Thank you Jill & Tom Hoppe for a safe and fun hangout.

The owners and customers are fantastic. They make you feel like you belong. Nice place to watch the game and you can also host a pretty big party there. Lots of space. Great food and lots of fun. A cool place in the neighborhood and free parking. I like Hoppe’s Tavern very much

This was my brother and our friends home away from back in early nineties ! Jill and Tom were get. Came back in last weekend, so many memories, great times! Same old bartender was there OMG! Was sad not to see Tom or Jill there. Wasn’t thrilled with a drunk young customer that kept going behind the bar and making her own drinks. Just kept thinking Tom and Jill will never have a loud that back in the day. We did have a great time!!! It was like the old days again. SHOCKED no Tom but you can play pool that wasn’t aloud back in the day. Great times , Great place!
