We had such an amazing experience at Hoplite Pub & Restaurant! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can truly taste the quality in the food, and the portions were perfect.
The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. The new owners are just as incredible—warm, passionate, and clearly dedicated to creating a place where people feel at home.
From the food to the service to the overall atmosphere, everything was top-notch. This is the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and an even better experience!

Very LOUD. We visited on the day of the grand reopening and used to frequent the old Hoplite. New interior is nice: Bright and airy. We enjoyed the comfy bench seating. They did get rid of a couple of our go-to food items (soft pretzel and French dip sandwich) but what we ended up ordering (corned beef and cabbage and meatloaf patty melt) was tasty. The corned beef had a lot of fat but even without eating that part, we didnt leave hungry. Temp inside was pretty chilly. Staff was plentiful and attentive. Didn’t recognize anyone as being old Hoplite staff but we didnt used to go on Saturdays. Only real complaint was the volume of the music. Way too loud and the reason I don’t like going to Good Hops on trivia night. Hoping they adjust music level and bring back Trivia With Ethan.

We went to the HopLite tonight to celebrate my birthday one more time and it was outstanding! The lightly breaded and fried whole flounder was spot on as were their sides of hush puppies and green beans. The pan seared feta app and bangers and mash also did not disappoint. They also had a homemade tiramisu which was the best we’ve had from here to Italy….Seriously! Thanks for dinner Gary!

Food great. Prices comparable. Service can be unreliable- sometimes amazing, sometimes slow without reason. Atmosphere is super cozy, laid back, you can wear shorts & t-shirt right from the beach to here!
The food is yummy & generous serving size for the price. Comfort food for sure, speaking as an Irish American
Overall, this is not a wasted trip because even at times when the service is slow, it’s still good food & a good time.

Got there at opening. A bit dark and chilly so…perfect escape from the heat! Being the first and only ones there we waited a bit too long for our server. Our food was delivered, fresh and hot! A childrens menu would be nice.

This little gem almost hides in plain sight. Seek it out the next time you visit Carolina beach. A delicious variety of Irish pub food and tasty beers. A large selection of whisky is available for your approval as well as a full bar. I had the chicken and my wife loved the fish & chips. Alex waited on us and she was great! We’ll see you again at Christmas.

Attentive service, and the pub food is a cut above. Good choices for beer. I asked for a Black and Tan, got a beautiful pour (many bartenders don’t know how to serve it).
