First time visiting Hopdoddy Burger Bar in Jacksonville. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is vibrant, the service is friendly, and the beer is ICE cold!! This is an Austin-based fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in “consciously-crafted” burgers, hand-cut fries, and craft beers. Its name is a combination of “Hops” (for beer) and “Doddy” (a nickname for Black Angus cattle). My wife and I sat at the bar and had the classic burger with fries to share. Both were incredible!! Also tried the happy hour sliders that were outstanding as well.

Visited Hopdoddy’s for the first time with a friend and I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I had moderate expectations for the truffle fries but they were fantastic and I would definitely come back even if I only got the fries. The sauce it came with was phenomenal and complimented the fries perfectly. I got the double bacon Jam and it was a very tasty burger. I will say that the burger was small for the high price but flavor was definitely there. I will return to eat here again but a sale or lower prices would definitely be appreciated. 5/5 will return.

I went here on a Wednesday at 4:30pm. It was so empty we thought it was closed. To our suprise we had a great time. We got our sweet potato fries within minutes and 5 minutes later had our burgers. I got the melt and chowed down. It was truly delicious. Didn’t have time to take pictures of anything else. Gone to soon.

For better or worse another person’s experience will vary….my wife and I visited here around 9pm Saturday Valentine’s day 2026. Not crowded, maybe 5 tables total with patrons. You place your order with a cashier and they assign you a seat and bring your food out. The cashier let us know they were out of wagyu, carbonation for soda & beer, and later heard they ran out of onion. There’s a menu board which boasts that you can elevate your burger with bison. I tried that and the cashier wasn’t able to ring it up. The result was him ringing up a different burger and customizing it (incorrectly) to match the burger I wanted. The table where we sat was sticky as were the cups we were given for drinks. We sat near a mirror which was dirty. French fries came out shortly after seating but long before the burgers we ordered. The result is either fries that are eaten hot without a burger or cold fries with a burger. My burger came out incorrectly and I had to send it back to the kitchen. The replacement burger had two bison patties that were cooked to different temps, one being medium and the other well done. My wife enjoyed her burger and was done with her burger and fries by the time my replacement burger came. Overall this was not their best foot forward in my experience. It was my first visit. I’m not at st John’s town center often but I would give them a second chance at some point. If the second time is anything near this visit I’d never return. Other folks seemed to enjoy their experience and food as did my wife.

Burgers were pretty good but small, for the price I expected restaurant quality. I ordered a bananas foster shake, it was horrible, it was warm and very runny and just like drinking straight syrup! I ask the waitress why it was warm and told her I did not like it, she said that’s the way they are. Did not offer to make another or offer refund. Bad customer service. FYI fries were the best part!

Took us forever to try this place bc who wants to go to another burger joint. But we are glad we came bc all the food was delicious!!! Had burgers, truffle fries & kale salad. Can’t wait to come back.

Really enjoyed my visit to Hopdoddy in Jacksonville. The decor is modern, stylish, and welcoming—a great place to chill with friends or grab a casual meal.
I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my son had the Chicken Bacon Sandwich. Both were impressively large and definitely filling. Just note that they don’t come with sides, which was a little surprising given the portion size.
We also got the Parmesan Truffle Fries—they were a standout! Super tasty and a generous portion that could easily feed three people.
All in all, a great spot with good vibes and solid food. Would be even better with combo options, but still very much worth the visit!

Staff was very nice, I really liked their attitude and how they treated customers. Overall, the place looked dirty, the floor was super sticky, and a deep clean would help a lot. The food was average at best. I had high expectations. The fries were good, but both burgers were too oily, and the grilled bread on the Doddy Melt burger was too heavy on butter or something that overpowered the burger’s flavor, unfortunately not for my taste.

First time here. Food was pretty good, a little greasy though. Only major turn off was the entire time after we got our food, there was some sort of gnats flying around us and on the food. A ton of them. Kinda grossed me out. The staff was very nice and friendly. Probably wouldn’t go back again, but worth to try once.
