Tried Hooyo’s for the first time today. The staff were so warm and welcoming which always leaves a great first impression.
I ordered the goat and rice with the beef sambusas. It was $25 and while I waited for my food, the amazing lady at the front made me a chai tea. So delicate, sweet, and delicious.
The sambusas were so flavorful and paired well with the green sauce.
The goat was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. Similar tenderness to a well cooked short rib. The rice was well seasoned and paired so nicely with the meat. The green sauce was moderately spicy and paired well with the lime and goat. The portions were great and I had to take the rest of the rice home. This place is a hidden gem! I would most definitely recommend.

The owner was so friendly! The food was so good! Our favorite was the beef sambousa, baklava and Chai tea. The family style platter she offered us was fantastic! It was a great experience and we can’t wait to return!

Second time stopping in. Just as good as the last time.
Had the veggie Ethiopian Injera and Beef Samosas. One of the best Samosas I’ve had in a long time. That first bite
The injera and veggies were perfect.
Thanks again!

I’m overjoyed that Madina is back and her delicious cuisine! She’s friendly and gave me a hug on my first visit to the new restaurant. The chicken is so delicious along with the most perfectly cooked rice. The rice knocks it out of the park!! The sambusa are a delicacy here. We ordered both chicken and beef sambusas. They’re spicy and even better with the spicy green sauce. We also shared the everything injera platter. It’s a feast and could be multiple meals or shared amongst a few people. It is certainly a great way to try multiple dishes at once. There’s 2 lentil stews, potatoes and cabbage stew, stewed collard greens, salad and the best beef stew served with injera. Injera is a fermented flat bread that pairs perfectly with the stews. Check out Hooyo for good East African cuisine! Thanks Madina!!!

Hooyo’s is such a hidden gem. The owner, who is Somali, makes truly exceptional Ethiopian food — full of flavor and authenticity. My family gave her a bit of a hard time at first, but in the end everyone enjoyed the meal and cleared their plates. Perfect spot for a quick bite, and I’ll definitely be back.

Some of the best food in Fargo!! Not to mention how amazing the owner, Medina is. She’s always so kind and helpful. I recommend the chapati wrap and suqaar but can’t go wrong with anything else. Get the baklava on the way out

Went for supper at Hooyo’s Kitchen. It’s been a while since we’ve had Ethiopian food in the FM area. Naturally we got the full (meat) Ethiopian injera platter along with sambusas and baajiya. Everything was very flavorful and the injera platter was presented so beautifully! We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
