Formerly known as The Other Side, Hootie’s M.D. was purchased and established by a local owner in June of 2019. We offer drinks and fantastic appetizers, burgers, pizzas, and more! The bar is open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 2PM – 2AM. Food is available during the following times: Monday & Tuesday: Closed Wednesday – Thursday: 4PM – 10PM Friday – Saturday: 4PM – 12AM *Pizza’s Only 10PM – 12 AM and when bands start Sunday 4PM – 10PM

Fantastic. Was in town for the coal miners celebration just after it went under new ownership from “the other side” and the transition was fantastic. Zach had his family by his side through it all and Whitney was an excellent bartender and Kathy was an amazing bouncer I must admit I’ve known the new owner since high school and I’m partial to thinking he is an excellent person. Whether you’re a long time local or just on a cruise through town they’ll treat you like family. Excellent spot owned by an excellent person. My only advice for them is to get a good license. But that may just be because I like to eat when I drink.

Ordered a Hooties Flatbread and a blue moon.
The flatbread was loaded with fresh and generous toppings, and the beer was ice cold.
The price was right, and the portions were generous.
The barman was great, and the other patrons were just the same.

Was down in Southern Iowa deer hunting. Had never been to Hooties before but wanted to stop in and try something different for supper. Ordered the Coal Miner Burger. Hands down best Burger I have ever had anywhere. Bar and atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend stopping in to eat and drink! Best kept secret in Southern Iowa!
