We went last night after some friends recommended this place, and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and polite. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were delicious! We also had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and jalapeño mac and cheese—everything was incredibly tasty. The chicken was really good, and the mac and cheese was our favorite.
I had the prickly pear margarita, and it was awesome. For dessert, we tried the honey lavender cake with blackberry, and oh my—it was absolutely delicious. Prices were very reasonable overall. I 100% recommend this place!

Cozy establishment. There are 2 long, high top tables seating 8 in the main room along with another table(s) for 6. In another room there’s additional tables. There’s a bar also. The food is served family style but single servings are offered. It took a longer than we expected for our meal to arrive at the table, but the wait was worth it. I recommend the pork loin with apples, and the green beans. Delicious.

Roast beef cooked perfect — and that horseradish? Just right. Not the “clear your sinuses and question your life choices” kind. The balanced, creamy, little kick that makes the beef better without stealing the show. That’s how you do it.
Brussels sprouts were money.
Scalloped potatoes didn’t survive the table.
Manhattan was straight fuego
But let’s talk about the service.
Attentive without hovering. Glass never empty. Checked in at the right times. Felt like they actually cared that we were there — not just flipping tables. In a small town, that stuff matters. You can tell when people take pride in what they’re doing.

This place is so cute. I absolutely love the small town feel. The drinks come in mason jars! Love love love. Owner was super kind and greeted us as soon as we came in. Our waitress, Kat, was amazing ♡ She was very attentive and patient with my 2 kiddos. Food was delicious too Definitely have to try the fried pickles if you decide to go! My oldest daughter got the kids chicken and an additional “side” of Mac n Cheese. When I say side, I mean, is was big enough for a grown man and maybe a bit of leftovers. Same with the fried pickles. Was worth the visit and the money. Will be back! Thank you Hoosier Roots!

The server was very nice, the place is very small so you’re able to have conversations with other diners. The side dishes were great- the green beans, the Mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. The fried chicken was just ok. They were out of rolls and had no desserts available.

This place was delicious!! There were 6 of us and we got 3 entrees and 3 sides and an appetizer. That was the perfect amount of food. The roast beef with horseradish was the best beef I’ve EVER had. So so so good. You’ve got to try it. Everything else was also very tasty. This place is definitely a hidden gem!

We came from Indy to try and it did not disappoint! Great fried chicken and mac n cheese (loved the jalapeño flavor— not spicy). We also liked the potato rolls and pork belly wedges. The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the mashed potato’s, but that’s probably a personal preference. The fried chicken is definitely the star of the show!! The little town hosting this restaurant is very lucky!

Some of the best food I have had in a long time. Every item was delicious. Fried pickles, mashed potatoes, gravy, Brussel sprouts, and the prickly pear margarita were amazing. Taking both cake choices home to try them. Highly recommend.
