Hooligans Half Irish Pub – Great Vibes, Great Prices
Had a blast at Hooligans Half Irish Pub! The place has a fun, happening atmosphere that makes for a great night out.
The staff was really nice and kept things running smoothly even though it was busy.
Best part? The prices are totally reasonable, which is always a win. You can actually enjoy a night out without breaking the bank.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a lively spot with good energy and fair prices!

Best food & beverages in Cookeville. The bartenders can make anything you desire and they are always delicious. Best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is always good & there is a Huge TV everywhere you look along with great music choices. My favorite of all my favorites ❤️

It is a bar, ash trays on all the tables and smoke filled even at lunch time. Food was nothing special. Buffalo chicken wrap had no buffalo flavoring. If you are looking for a bar and bar food this may be your place, but probably skip it if you are looking for a good meal.

September 30, 2024 – This Irish ☘️ Pub would be one of my favorite gathering places for so many reasons . . . but ?
On our way to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico. . . My wife and I Googled Irish Pubs, we hit on Hooligans , so we tried it ! Lively, Monday Night Football playing on 7 TVs! Good crowd enjoying their beers, their food, their friends, and their cigarettes!
Although most tables had smokers, we stayed, didn’t complain, and enjoyed our beers, food, and NFL game on tv. We asked our server, Kayla about the pub’s smoking policy? She said the owners installed good air filtering system ( which I had to agree)!
Smoking isn’t part of our world, so we probably won’t return. My only suggestion would be to have a disclaimer on their website, and front door. Smoking in a restaurant should be up front, especially if 1st time visitors are unaware, and might enter with young children. Otherwise, folks can make their own decisions.
I do like Irish pubs, and traveled to Ireland to sample first hand their lovely island, culture, food, beers, and music . ☘️
Not sure when this pub first opened? I hope they stay true to their Irish roots! Shepherd’s Pie is on the menu ( ground beef instead of lamb) . Would like to see/hear some Irish music ? We’ve heard some great Irish performers in Ireland! Have the wait staff pronounce “ Smithwicks “ the Irish way! ☘️
Overall, I liked the food, and vibe here at Hooligans Half Irish Pub . . . maybe without the Smoking

They have such good food and a draft selection. Prices are pretty darn good too. The bartender was polite and kept our drinks full. I just wish they didn’t allow smoking inside which is why I only gave them a 3/5 stars.

The bartender was , punctual , kind , and asked numerous times , if we needed anything . Even though they were busy!
The music was good , I wish they had live music , possibly they do , and just not this evening .
Numerous , large screen TVs , surrounded the restaurant .
I didn’t eat the food , but I saw , numerous people , having the wings , that looked amazing !
Will definitely , return , when I’m back to Cookeville TN.

We stopped in the late afternoon on a Monday. The service was fast, friendly and our server Chezney was great. They have a very good selection of draft beers and a full bar. We had the Turkey Bacon Melt and the Irish Caribbean Melt, both were very good. Their fries were also very good. The only negative for us is that smoking is permitted.

On a trip to Sparta, we stopped in Cookeville and decided to eat here at Hooligans half Irish pub. Great selection of beers, had a Stone IPA, Hooligans burger and fries. Everything was great, service was outstanding, food was awesome. Giving a ding on atmosphere due to smoking in the building as I don’t smoke. However it was not crazy smoky. You’re near here, stop by, definitely worth it.

The service used to be fantastic. Here recently the last 3 times i’ve came the service has been terrible had 4 different waitresses. Drinks will be empty and the entire table just looking around for anyone. Its not even that busy and no servers in sight. Our table made a joke “We could of walked across to the liquor store grabbed drinks and walked back and still not been visited by our server.” Im not sure what happened. Ive taken someone new to the place and each time its been like this. The first time I swore that its never like this and it will be different next time. 2 times later and still the same experience. Ive had to get up and wait by the door to the kitchen for someone to come out just to ask for things my table needed. What happened to hooligans???

Awesome place in Cookeville! Stopped in for cpl beers and grabbed some food to go. Haley was fantastic behind the bar! Her service and conversation were fantastic! Always my go to when I’m in Cookeville.
