My boyfriend and I came to dinner at Hooligan’s as a nice date night before a show at the Croswell. Unfortunately our experience was not as lovely as we would’ve hoped. We understood that with the show and the staff circumstances that things would not be running up to their normal par. However, when we arrived we were told we would have enough time to be served before the show. We had arrived about an hour and a half before the show started to give ourselves some extra time. We ordered right away but didn’t receive our food until about an hour and 15 minutes later. In that time, not a single member of the serving staff checked in on us or refilled our drinks. When we received our meals my boyfriends steak was completely burnt and my salmon was raw. We asked for our check and waited an additional 10 minutes before receiving it. I will say, one server in particular was exceptionally kind, I observed as she treated everyone with the same amount of respect no matter the stress of the situation. She greeted us at the door with a smile and continued to apologize for the staff as we left. I can’t remember her name but she, other than the cute atmosphere, was the most redeemable quality of this unfortunate experience. More accurate wait times and transparency with the costumers is my best suggestion for keeping this business successful.

My wife and I went to Hooligans on our wedding so we could eat and have some drinks with our wedding party. The service was really slow and our waitress called my brother a nerd. Seeming to realize she shouldn’t have said it she became a little nicer but forgot our drinks and made us wait a long time for drinks. They had one big party of people there and our group but she seemed to spend more time with the other table. The food was okay, but after that experience we would never go again.

We had a group of 4. The food was good, but I wanted mashed potatoes with my ribs, never got them. We ordered mushrooms as an appetizers, didn’t get them either. We made sure it wasn’t on the bill. Not really sure if we’ll be back.

Sadly the negative reviews are accurate. Cold food. The bill was very delayed and mixed up. There was a black piece of plastic/foam in our drink. Cool atmosphere though, seems like they could get it right someday.

The atmosphere is wonderful. Love the decor, the feel of the place and even the temperature was warm and inviting. (I hate going out to eat and a place sets their temperature at freezing!!) It was pretty empty for a Saturday night and we still had to wait to be waited on initially, and food took a good bit to arrive. We ordered just burgers and chicken sandwiches; they were good but nothing spectacular. The prices here for entrees were a little high so I tend to order the basics and see how the chef cooks before I spend a pretty penny. I’d give them another shot, though reading reviews it seems hit and miss. Service was just okay too, who ever was working the bar was a little loud and kind of took down the quiet, high end feel. I feel like this could be a great higher end restaurant if they could pull it together but the walking the line between local pub with expensive entrees doesn’t make for repeat customers look for nice meal.

Atmosphere here is nice. Not to crowded. Food was delicious! Portions a little small for the price but most everything went up price wise everywhere due to covid-19. We enjoyed the Hoo do taters and bacon jam. Also had the French dip not pictured. Will return sometime for the scotch eggs on Sunday
