Super yummy. Would recommend the catfish. The Cajun fries were good. I don’t normally like sweet potato fries or waffle fries but I love their sweet potato waffle fries. The shrimp boil with seasoned garlic butter was yummy. It was a little overcooked but we went on a super busy day.
The service was amazing. Even though they were busy, they took the time to communicate with us what was going on. Lena was great!

Hook & Heel seafood-bar restaurant is quite good.

Decker Lake Drive by the Maverik Center.

You get 8 jumbo shrimp with the freshest, soft-tender sweet potatoes fries and 2 dipping sauces $15, good values for a seafood restaurant. The meal comes with a complimentary white shrimp crispy chips dashed with a tasty seasoning.

The cocktail sauce was delicious. The best and freshest that I can recall in a long time **** Fry sauce was fresh and excellent.

For children, perfectly blended seasoning batter chicken tenders.

Stopped by Hooks & Heel before headed to John Legend’s concert at the Maverik Center.

Everything was cooked perfectly. The flavors worked so well together.

It has the perfect seafood restaurant-bar vibes.

Service: 5 stars impeccable
Food Portion: 5 generous size meals
Ambiance: 5
Price Point: 5 $ to $$ depending on what you order
Decors: 5 a perfect setting
Noise Level: 5 perfect and just right
Cleanness: 5 spotless
Presentation: 10 award winning
Sauces & Dipping: 5 very, very good

Loved the decors in the restaurant and bar. Antique moving parts of the steampunk gears/wheels pinned to the wall by the restrooms were cool and added a nolstagic era and timeline.

The bathroom needs some work. It didn’t smell Lysol or bleach cleaned, it has a lingering funky odor as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Gunky toilet papers by toilet stalls, bathroom counter/flooring needs to be throughly cleaned-wiped everyday for guests. Air freshener is a must to place on the small bathroom counter.

Come hungry. Generous portions.

Will circle back with business associates, family and friends.

Decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised!
The service was a standout, our waitress (I believe her name was Lena) was absolutely amazing and super attentive.

We started with the steamed oysters, which were unfortunately a letdown, pretty mid and not as fresh as we hoped. However, the seafood bags totally made up for it! The crab and shrimp were delicious, and the seasoning we picked was spot on.

Overall, we left happy and full. Would definitely come back, just probably skip the oysters next time.

Very vibrant, cute atmosphere. Lena was our server and she did fantastic! She had multiple tables in her section and paid great attention to each patron. Made us laugh too which is always a plus. I got the Cajun flavored snow crab legs with the Cajun seasoning. My friend got the garlic flavor which is what was recommended to us and I actually liked her flavoring more. Crab legs were tough to break, otherwise everything else is 5 stars!

This was our first visit to this location. Food did not disappoint. Flavor is amazing. Good served quickly. Server was experienced and awesome! I would recommend the crab fries and hush puppies for an appetizer. The special house blend for your boil bag. It’s phenomenal.

Passing by from Vegas, Skyler was our server & bartender and was super friendly. Professional and will come back for the food but also for the generous atmosphere he created.

Hook & Reel has always been one of my favorite late-night spots, which is why this experience was so disappointing. My wife and I went on Valentine’s Day after I got off work (I work nights in the restaurant industry myself), and while I expected it to be busy, I didn’t expect the attitude we received at the front desk.

When I got to the hostess stand, I politely said I was trying to get a table for my wife and I. The hostess (Kaia, if I’m spelling that correctly) responded with an obvious look of annoyance and an “uhhh okay.” It immediately felt unwelcoming. I understand Valentine’s Day is hectic, but no need for that response.

Later, when I received the text saying our table was ready and returned to check in, I was initially ignored. When I tried again and showed the message, I was told “we have to go in order.” That’s completely fine, but that could have been communicated respectfully the first time instead of brushing me off.

The wait ended up being shorter than expected, and once seated, everything improved. Our server, Cassie, was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and professional. We left a great tip because the service at the table was excellent.

That being said, the hostess is the first interaction guests have with the restaurant. On a special night like Valentine’s Day, being greeted with attitude instead of professionalism really sets the wrong tone. I did speak with a manager before leaving because I genuinely enjoy this place and have never had an experience like that until now.

I’ll be back because I love the food and the late-night availability, but if Kaia doesn’t have the manners to deal with the customers, she should be washing the dishes.

Delicious steamed seafood at delicious prices. This place never disappoints. We really like the crab salad, and we always end up with some leftovers. But that’s on purpose, because we always make sure to order our boils with EXTRA potatoes (which taste fantastic with the sauces). We have tried all the sauces, and our favorite is the seasoned garlic butter. Second favorite is the Hook & Reel blend. Sometimes we get a mix of those two, but overall we have decided we prefer just the seasoned garlic butter by itself. The crab legs are our preferred go-to choice, and our preference on flavor is the snow crab (even more than the lobster or anything else). We often split a single order of the crab legs, with added taters and sometimes extra corn or things. This last time we splurged on adding broccoli of all things, which felt a bit overpriced at $5, but overall it was tasty and worth it to have that bit of lightly steamed vegetable flavor in the mix. This place is a real gem for good seafood. Check it out.
