This was my first and absolutely last visit to Hook, Fish & Chicken in West Palm Beach. I am beyond disappointed and honestly disturbed.
I ordered a conch salad, and to my complete shock and horror, it contained a screwdriver. Yes — an actual metal screwdriver inside the food. That alone says everything that needs to be said about this place’s lack of cleanliness, safety, and basic food-handling standards.
This is not just unacceptable — it is dangerous. God forbid something had happened to me, my family, or especially my children. The consequences could have been serious, and this situation could easily have turned into a medical emergency or worse.
This establishment is nasty, careless, and irresponsible. There is clearly no concern for customer safety or proper kitchen procedures. I would never recommend this place to anyone — anywhere — under any circumstance.
If something like this can happen so casually, imagine what isn’t being seen. This experience has completely destroyed any trust, and if harm had occurred, this matter would have gone straight to legal action with full consequences.
Extremely disappointed.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Decided to grab a quick bite before headed to the hotel. The food was o.k. Doubtful that the ‘catfish’ was catfish. I swear it was tilapia. The crust was perfectly crunchy, but just lacked flavor. What’s not disappointing here is the price, about $10 a plate! You won’t find a better value. It’s just not a place I’m ever gonna crave to come back to. The staff was great.

The woman at the drive-through window was very helpful so I gave her a five dollar cash tip. This was my first visit here and unfortunately, the food was inedible. Everything was slathered in salt. Won’t be back. Gave a two star rating on one star food because of the very nice cashier.

The customer service was the only thing I enjoyed from this place. After getting home & opening my meal, it went downhill. I saw ALOT of what looks to be seasoning(mostly salt) all over my food. After tasting it, it was definitely salt…and WAY TOO MUCH of it! Who completely covers chicken tenders, fries & mozzarella sticks in this amount of salt?! Aside from that, there was barely any cheese in the sticks & they were DRY! The other orders we got weren’t covered in it either, so why was this one? I have no idea! But definitely money wasted, because it was disgusting and not edible. I hate to have to write a bad review because I never usually do, but this had me aggravated on a whole other level.

Must have come on a BAD day. The jumbo shrimp were a mess. Looks over cooked on the outside but slimy and undercooked on the inside. All the batter was stuck to each other so I had to pull my shrimp apart! Wasn’t good at all. Not sure what they were going through but I’ll pass. I went out of my way after work to get this but it definitely did not meet my expectations or live up to the hype. Well, now I know. The cat fish (not pictured) was undercooked. I don’t mess with undercooked fish for fear of parasites, etc so I ended up throwing it out instead of reheating it at home.

This is a gem which we found on yelp. We stumbled upon our last time here to Florida and went out of our way to come a second time. It did not disappoint. I brought my sister this time because she loves okra as well as catfish. It’s not much to look at, however, the food is a surprise. Highly recommended, serving sizes are big. Bring your appetite and be open minded, and you’ll be awarded with a great surprise.

I am not a new customer to Fish and hooks I’ve been going there for years. Unfortunately, their food has went downhill. My family ordered fish, one being snapper, which was freezer, burnt overly season In which I asked him not to season it because it was for my grandmother. My mother’s fish was extremely fishy. It smelled very bad as if it was old. I’m so disappointed a waste of money they did not eat none of their food. I felt terribly horrible for my grandmother and my mother. She’s an older lady, and she can’t eat all of that season. The french fries are soggy drenched in oil. The food is deplorable. Even the inside behind the counters in the kitchen is dirty it’s not clean. They have more concerned with the business and the money instead of Service in preparing freshly made clean food. They refried the chicken there and it’s just a horrible place to eat at this point. I hate to leave bad reviews but this is the truth.
