COCKROACH in my food.
This was previously a favorite restaurant for my daughter and I. Until 12/18/24 when we had a cockroach that was fried while hiding in the crease of our crab Rangoon. We dined in for the all you can eat sushi lunch and when we got the appetizer, crab Rangoon, my daughter asked if that was a bug in the food. Naturally I automatically replied no but when I looked there was a fried cockroach clear as day on the crab Rangoon. I told the couple dining next to us and they looked and confirmed it was indeed a cockroach I was looking at. Obviously this ended our lunch. When I told the female server and showed her the roach she said “sorry about that”. My daughter and I left but I’m disgusted when I think of how many roaches must be
running around for there to be one that somehow got fried in our food which is typically stored frozen prior to being cooked. It looked like it was “hiding” in the folded outside part of the Rangoon . I want to puke thinking about all the times we have previously eaten here. I intend to report this to the health department, but for now I will share the pictures as a warning to others.

My family and I have dined here at least five times, and each visit has been wonderful, particularly the food and service. We especially appreciate their all-you-can-eat sushi. My nephew introduced us to this restaurant, and while it’s a 30-45 minute drive, we find it worthwhile.

We decided to visit honkaku for a great feast after a vigorous gym workout. The restaurant aesthetic is a very cool and laid-back atmosphere great for a casual time with friends.
We decided to do the all you can eat sushi which marked at a great price point. The food itself was delicious and visual presentation was great my only complaint would be the long wait time. Considering the place wasn’t that busy. I would definitely recommend checking this place out

First time here and everything was good no one really here it was kinda weird. Maybe people aren’t really dining out nowadays? The service was great and the food didn’t disappoint! Very happy I came here. Did I mention all you can eat sushi ? And leave some room for the green tea ice cream.

I ordered the King Roll off Uber eats from this restaurant. It wasn’t pleasant. I’m not even a picky eater and I tend to love sushi all around. From the grocery store, buffets, five star restaurants, you could usually never disappoint. However, this wasn’t very good. First, the presentation wasn’t appealing. It’s almost unrecognizable as a sushi roll. What made it gross was the crab with mayo sauce on top. It was a very thick layer. I don’t know anyone who eats that much mayonnaise. It was a lot of cream cheese as well and it wasn’t cold which is also a deterrent because no one likes warm cream cheese unless it’s melting on a bagel. It was a very thin layer of rice between it all as well. It just didn’t taste like Sushi should. Ot tasted like biting into a mayo donut. Not a lot of actual fish being eaten. The crab was very far from natural.

This has always been our go to comfort sushi restaurant.

The staff is generally quick, responsive and helpful.

As for the sushi, we don’t do the “all you can eat” special so I can’t speak to that. Albeit, the special rolls are fantastic, well done and presented. It’s always a little different each time, making each occasion both fun and special.

The mai tias and other mixed drinks are tasty.

All in all, we haven’t had a bad experience yet and we will keep returning.

Fun smiling and friendly staff. Chris even made the visit entertaining. It was very busy but my order came out in reasonable time. Fresh made from scratch rolls and sushi. If you like sushi, try this place at least once. Ice cream (green tea, chocolate and vanilla) included.

My fiance wanted to order sushi tonight, but I opted for fried rice and chicken karaage instead. Unfortunately, what I received was CHICKEN NUGGETS.

Look at them. There’s no mistaking that those are chicken nuggets. They’re even the same shapes as McDonalds nuggets–the circle, the bell, the boot…that one that’s vaguely diamond/rhomboid-shaped.

Seriously though, it’s laughable and incredibly insulting that a restaurant thought that ultra-processed nuggets were an appropriate substitute for karaage–especially if they thought they could fool an East Asian person who knows full well what karaage is supposed to be.

If they were going to knowingly send along nuggets, the least they could have done was make sure they were fresh. I was annoyed that it wasn’t karaage, but I can still get down with some tasty nuggs. But NARP. The breading wasn’t remotely crunchy, and it had that off, stale flavor that suggested it had sat in a musty back room for several hours. Did they run out of karaage and give me their leftover lunch in a panic instead? Because that’s what it tasted like. If I had known this would be my experience, I would have just run out to the golden arches and gotten myself a proper 10-piece.

Oh yeah, the fried rice was odd too. It didn’t taste bad per se, but the flavor was more akin to pilaf. Just an extremely bizzare, disjointed, and altogether disappointing experience. If my fiance suggests ordering from here again we’re going to fight about it.

Not literally of course. But there will be a heated exchange of words.

This place is amazing! All sushi rolls are handmade and the presentation is terrific! You can order “a la carte” or do the “All You Can Eat” for lunch or dinner. Lunch has restrictions on which things are included, but the dinner does not. The “All You Can Eat” includes appetizers, soups, salads, Nigeri, and a variety of rolls. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it.

The service does take a bit longer to get your food out to you due to everything being made on the spot, but the staff makes sure you’re checked on and they are super friendly. When we get sushi we always share so we put all rolls on one ticket and was delivered to our table on a bamboo boat. My kids and I really enjoyed ourselves with with the whole experience. The atmosphere was very calm and happy. The food and service were great! All in all I highly recommend trying this place out.
