Food are ok, nothing really special. Their Crispy Pata are mostly bones with a little meat. I won’t order it again. I love their Pandan Sundae. The server can’t even remember our orders though he was writing them down. Small place.

Grew up near Cubao, QC where they had a Hong Ning restaurant. They eventually left the area and heard they (or the family) moved to the NW Chicago suburbs. While not quite the same, the food here is quite decent. The pork bbq is very much Filipino style, so highly recommend that. The fresh lumpia when available is a must order. Service was quick and friendly. And we were always able to find a table available immediately. Ample parking.

I had the Chicken Inasal and the crispy sisig. Both were incredible. My favorite was the chicken—it was juicy and tender and the rice was perfect.

Hong Ning Filipino Restaurant offers some authentic Filipino dishes and desserts. All of their dishes are served à la carte and family-style, big portions meant for sharing. Make sure to get plenty of white rice or garlic fried (sinagag) to enjoy the plenty sauces and flavors. Highlights were the KareKare (stewed beef), Dinaguan (chocolate pork) and Pancit palabok (shrimp with a spaghetti like rice noodle). For me, the two appetizers were hit or miss, Fried Bangus and Sisig, needed some sawsawan (vinegar dipping sauce) to help bring it together. All that aside Hong Ning impressed me with great food, a warm environment and friendly service. Salamat po, kitakits!

Lechon roll with Mang Tomas sarsa is really delicious. Pork skewers are also delicious but are pretty fatty. Fried chicken skin tastes better than chicharon especially dipped in the sauce on the side. I was told by one in our party that the chicken adobo is good but needs a little more vinegar. The daing ng bangus us one of the best I have tasted. Better than seafood city. If you are planning on visiting on the weekend, make a reservation by calling their number. I was really glad I did on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm! The restaurant was full.

AMAZING! Here’s how I judge a restaurant if the natives are half of the occupants of said restaurant, the food is ALWAYS good. You realize that they’re not going to come waste their money on just average food! Our friend is Filipino and recommended this restaurant.

Fantastic place! Excellent food and service coming from a quaint and homey restaurant. Well-made traditional Filipino food is served here and is reminiscent of a delicious home-cooked meal. We called ahead and ordered for pick-up. We ordered the crispy sisig, miki bihon, egg rolls, crispy pata kare kare, lechon kawali, and halo halo. It was all very delicious and was an exemplary taste of the cooking back home in the Philippines. The sisig was rich with flavor and practically melted in your mouth while some of the pieces still had a bit of crunch to it, which was perfect! I only wish it was cooked with hot peppers. The lechon was reheated in our airfryer, which got it crunchy again, the kare kare was expertly made. The pata meat was stewed to perfection and very tender. The sauce was savory, and the vegetables were so fresh that they still had a nice snap to them when chewed. The bihon noodles were plentiful and euphoric. The eggrolls were crispy and meaty, and the sauce that came with it was tart and tangy. Overall, my experience was an excellent one. The food was ready for pick-up at the time given. The dining area was clean with ample seating. The prices seemed fair, as the portions were large enough to feed several people, and the volume seemed appropriate given what the prices were. There was a sign posted about how they are short-staffed, so please be patient with any longer waiting times and call ahead accordingly if ordering take-out. Again, this was an excellent culinary experience. Thank you for the great food and awesome service!

I have now been here a few times with a friend and I’ve loved every single meal. I finally took my parents and family here today, and they also loved it. Food is always on point and so flavorful! Staff is very friendly. Love the chicken inasal (the vinegar sauce ), pancit, bbq skewers, garlic rice, lumpia, ube panna cotta , and halo halo dessert! This is definitely a go-to place for Filipino food now.

Long wait (45mins.) at around 1:30 on a Sunday. Food came out fast after ordering and seating was roomy…they dont put tables too close to each other.
If you are going to use the bathrooms to wash your hands, bring your own soap and paper towels or bring in napkins

We’ve been going to this place since the mid90s back when we still live in St Charles. They serve authentic Filipino dishes that never fades. Now we live and the city and we still trek out here. It’s great for groups, little to no wait time and always reliably delectable plates.
