Nice staff but really bad food. My chicken was chewy and dry but it was soaking in sauce and the sauce was just waaaaaay too salty and no veggies, not one. I don’t usually do bad reviews, but I made an exception. A real evening killer.

First time eating here! The service great, and the Kung po chicken was delicious! I also enjoyed the pot stickers.. definitely will try to go back!

The only place within 20 mins radius besides super busy sit-down family restaurants, open on Thanksgiving (besides Marcos)! For those of us with poor planning and tired souls not wanting to cook food at home on a holiday, this was just the ticket. Prices are about 20% cheaper than Doordash shows. Avg meal with rice side is $11-13.

Great food, great prices, and great people. Without a doubt or even any competition even, the Hong Kong is my families favorite place to eat out. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. When asked for something off the beaten path from China, he made us a Chinese curry – and even offered to replace it if we didn’t like it. We loved it! These folks treat you like family!

I’ve been going to Hong Kong for years, and I’ve watched the kids grow up into adults. The owner is such a kind lady, and she’s pased that on to her family. I always get filled up with food here, and it’s delicious. I especially love the unique egg rolls. You can tell they are not from the freezer. Delicious place. Just wish I lived closer.
UPDATE:
Still amazing. When you haven’t been in in almost two years, and they still remember what drink you like without you saying it…Great people, and the restaurant’s been updated too. It really looks beautiful inside with the new wallpaper and carpet.

The old Mooresville Dairy Queen was transformed into a Chinese food restaurant years ago. As of today, the name (Hong Kong) is the same, but its under new ownership. They kept the name Hong Kong and the food is WAY better!
They have the best hot & sour soup. And any breaded meat is way different and way better! It is very light and crisp! So good!
Loved everything I’ve tried so far!
The only drawback is that it’s closed on Sunday – but since it looks to be family owned & operated, they deserve a day of rest!
Most of their business seems to be takeout, so there’s always room to eat in the restaurant.

Update: this place is close to my work so I tried it again. Really great orange chicken, I liked the rice this time, and the egg roll was good too. Great lunch prices and I think I just got an unlucky lack of sauce last time.
The potstickers were good and the price was low. However I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they gave me battered chicken, no sauce. Never have seen sweet and sour chicken that is just breaded chicken. It was ok, but without the signature sauce not too much flavor. At least it’s really cheap for lunch. Not quite sure what the rice was, but it wasn’t plain white rice like I expected.

Worst ‘asian’ food… it seems from other reviews this must be under new direction. The food was not edible! Just super salty and soggy with no other flavor. One dish was supposed to be spicy, it tasted like the others, gross with no spice. Its like someone is trying to cook Chinese who has no clue what they are doing. What a complete waste of money! I called and was offered a replacement but can’t imagine wanting to eat anything else there, it would have been nice to offer a refund. Don’t Waste Your money go elsewhere!

I have been going to Hong Kong restaurant since I was a little girl. The food has always been amazing but even better than that their staff has always been friendly and treated you like family. This is the only place I really enjoy Chinese food. Their egg rolls are amazing they’re fried rice is to die for. The people there remember your face and your order.

I was really disappointed in the quality of the food. The Crab Rangoon tasted like the fried it with really old oil. Without the sweet sauce, I couldn’t have eaten it. The chicken fried rice was mediocre at best. The General Tso’s Chichen ordered spicy was good, although not spicy.
