A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I’ve only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it’s excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I’m glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don’t (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I’d return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn’t recommend.

Food was tasty, however the General Tsos Chicken was dry, not tender. The place is clean and service is fast. Again the chicken was dry . Otherwise I’d give 5 Stars.

Just tried based on reviews and it did not disappoint. A bit out of the way but coming from NY very hard to find good Chinese. Spare ribs were a big hit with my boys, best pork fried dumplings I’ve had in NJ yet in 17 years of searching. Not doughy and very flavorful. Reasonably priced and very fresh. Will definitely go back.

I do wish the soups would come with crispy noodles, but other than that, everything else is delicious. Never a bad meal from here. I love that you can get lo mein in your combo for a little upcharge, but their fried rice is so good, either way is a great way to go.

First time customer food was really fresh and not super greasy. Got the meal for 6 which was accurate. Also included soda and soup. Enough for lunch tomorrow. Tried curry chicken and it was really good! will be my new take out place for Chinese.

Talk about a hidden gem. You would never know that the food taste so good driving by. Living here for years first time visited and boy were e glad. Everything was awesome . Best Chinese food in the area honestly

The most delicious asian food in the area!!! We’ve ordered from other places around, but DAMN this food is so freaking tasty. Every dish is a hit, but we love the chicken and cashews, the eggplant in garlic sauce, the steamed dumplings, and other traditional favorites like sesame or general tso’s chicken, etc. The kids LOVE the lo-main and the sweet and sour chicken. Soups are great too! Times we’ve had people over and ordered, they were like “this is the BEST chinese food!! Where did you get it?!?” Highly recommend, not that they need this review to help, they’re always busy!
