After closure of Oriental Pearl Restaurant, we are still searching for a near close joint… this place is on the first floor, just like Oriental Pearl, a bit difficult to carry a stroller upstairs… restaurant was 70% full when we arrived at around 6:30 pm, the soup was very standard, nothing exceptional though, had to add condiments to elevate taste…Potsticker was stuffed with chicken, crab Rangoon was good, Chow Mein and Chicken Entree was great…the house noodles was also very good, but limited prawns and chicken in it… the fried rice was again standard. It’s an all women run joint, very attentive and prompt in service.

My wife and I had dinner here last night while celebrating our Anniversary.

Parking is a little difficult to locate in this area, so we had to drive around for a bit.

The space is up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator. It us a family style restaurant so they have found tables with turntables in the middle for the sharing of food. They have about 10 tables. The restaurant itself is cute and very connected to the Asian culture

When my wife and I arrived, there were 2 free tables available. Yes, they are created for larger parties. However, many of them were. They placed us at a table to share with another 2 ppl party. We did not like this at all. As a guest at a restaurant, we deserved the right to have our own table. It was a totally inconvenience to the ppl that were already at the table. Btw.. one was a Trans. I keep wondering why they sat us at no other table with others that were also 2 ppl. Why this table?

We observed a YT couple walk in and placed at their own large table. We them observed 3 Asians walk in and they were placed at a vet large table.

My wife and I did not hold much of a conversation because it was weird!!

The service was accomodating until midway through even our waitress never came back up check on us or ask if we needed anything. Honestly.. we did not even receive water now that I think of it.

The food was hot when it came out. I was not a fan of the wonton soup. It lacked flavor. I enjoyed the House Noodles (shrimp, chicken and beef).. but it needed seasoning or more flavor. We ordered chicken wings. That was delicious. We also ordered fried string beans and pork. That was so good!!!

My wife had a Chinese beer and I had a cold Sake served in a bottle.

When we were ready to pack up the leftover food, it had to sit because or efforts to be seen by a waitress to receive a box and bag was ignored. When we finally got the attention of another one, they immediately brought the check. Did not even ask if we needed a box.

Oh.. prices are really good and cheap. You get alot of food.

I reccomend this place, with reservations depending on your race or appearing lifestyle.

Taste of Hong Kong!!

Only a short stay in SF after travelled from East coast. Dad and I have been craving for a good and authentic Chinese Canton meal. After looked at all the Google reviews of the whole Chinatown. We decided to go for this place and we made the right choice. The sizzling claypot dishes were hearty and delicious just what we needed for a cold day and the veggie stir-fry was so fresh and well cooked. Beef Chow Fun (rice noodle) was great with wok hey 鑊氣 My dad called it the best meal since we have been away from home for 2 weeks. And the price is very reasonable too. Most importantly we made friend with the lady boss, she is so welcoming and looked after us well. She chatted with us the whole time talk about everything just like an old friend. We felt like home eating at her place so we went back again second night. Highly recommended for people if you look for an authentic Cantonese place and don’t know where to go. This place has something other place may not have – 人情味 多謝老闆娘

I was so happy to go to San Francisco for my birthday. My husband treated me to dinner in Chinatown at Hong Kong Clay Pot. Everything we ate was thoroughly enjoyed. From the salt and pepper chicken wings to the Chicken Clay Pot with chicken, sausage, mushrooms and onions. This is a no-frills restaurant, but all the food is bursting with flavor.

Don’t miss out on the absolutely most delicious Cantonese style Chinese food my family and I have ever eaten. The food prices are very inexpensive for as much as you get. The Chicken Chow Mein and the Chinese Broccoli With Beef are a MUST! These two dishes are by far the best we have ever eaten at any Chinese restaurant. We tried several dishes and only found chicken fried rice being average. Everything else was top shelf. The services is fantastic and I would recommend any party 4 or smaller to sit by the window so you can look out. Make sure if you’re anywhere near San Francisco to come eat at this gem!

the interior is of course outdated, everything is old and not very clean. but this is almost in all establishments, so I will evaluate the quality of the food. the order was brought quickly. the eggplants, pork were cooked well. the shrimp tempura was excellent.

This is a neat little walk up restaurant in Chinatown. It’s easy to miss the entrance because it’s only a door that leads up stairs, but it’s worth the search.

Service is friendly and the food is very good and reasonably priced.

I enjoyed the kung pao prawns. The dish was just spicy enough but not overdone.

⭐⭐⭐⭐️⭐️Hong Kong Clay Pot on Grant Avenue is an absolute gem tucked away on the second floor. Their traditional slow-cooking method creates incredible depth of flavor, and the crispy rice layer at the bottom of the pots is the best part!

The food here is simply fantastic. The Chicken with Eggplant & Salted Fish Clay Pot is a savory must-order, and the Oxtail Stew Clay Pot offers rich, tender comfort in every bite. If you love seafood, the Seafood Clay Pot with Bean Curd is top-notch, while the Frog Clay Pot with Chinese Sausage is a unique and delicious standout.
Beyond the pots, the Beef Chow Fun has amazing “wok hei,” and the Honey Walnut Prawns are perfectly crispy and creamy.

Don’t skip the Salt & Pepper Quail appetizer—it’s seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic Cantonese soul food!

This restaurant, first is located on the second floor, but the trip up the stairs is well worth the climb. Upon entering they greet you with a uproarious cheer. The dinning room is done over with white tablecloths, napkins and all quaint red decorations. I ordered classic shrimp chow mein and Mongolian beef which was very fresh and hot. Classic! My second Asian American restaurant during my visit to Chinatown, San Francisco. Delicious!
