We went here looking for some good Chinese food, and ended up with flavorless food, and a high price for flavor. For us to eat it cost $52 so we expected at least decent food. However the dumpling taste and feel like mush. The rice is flavorless, and the chicken even worse. It’s hard, half cold and half hot, it’s like it’s been microwaved. The drinks had a bad after taste and after working in a kitchen, it’s because they aren’t changing the spouts to their drinks. There was no seasoning and we had to douse it in pepper. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were funny, nice, and put forth effort to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant has character is one way to put it. You can see where it was leaking from the roof. I don’t care about the look of a restaurant, but the quality of the food. Overall food awful, service great, and atmosphere was meh. Also to top it off, those bottles in the photos, we tried the sause, and it’s been bad for a while. Could seriously make someone sick.

The old building has character but is better on the outside than inside. The ceiling had leak marks and tbe vents were filthy. The booths were very old and decapitated. When I sat down the seat cushion was wonky so I adjusted myself and when I sat back down it felt like the bottom fell out.
The staff was very pleasant and professional. I had high hopes after reading reviews but the food was only mediocre to us. Brought take out home for our kids and they didn’t like it either. The egg roll was very different, and had a pungent taste, and didn’t taste cabbage. The egg drop soup was okay, but a little on the bland side- just thick broth and egg, nothing else. The cream cheese wonton was good but stale. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty tasty. The fried rice however was quite different than anything I’ve had. It had no veggies and was yellow. The pork fried rice was terrible. Our first time there will be our last.

The restaurant is old, they try their best with maintenance but there’s better Chinese cuisine out there. It was also 45 dollars for three plates? It seemed way too expensive for the quality of food we got.

I don’t have any pictures for you, and you don’t need them. It’s really kind of sad that with such a prominent location in the city, that this place couldn’t do better.
The space is rather awkwardly arranged. You walk in and queue up to the right to place your order. Then backtrack to the cramped dining area. The booths are really tired, ours was so old, the upholstery has worn off the seats. If you look up you’ll see four overworked ceiling fans and the disgusting stains on the drop ceiling tiles. I didn’t get to see the restrooms because they keep them locked. The room is accented by a giant monolithic stainless steel freezer that belongs in the back, not in the dining area.
While the price of the food was reasonable, it was certainly nothing good. The egg rolls appeared to be old, and tasted stale as if they had been overcooked by being leftover and refried. My sweet & sour chicken was awful…tough and oily. But at least the whole affair was served on the finest styrofoam pennies can buy.
I really wish they could do better.

I had high hopes, but their Worsugai was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I opened the takeout container, and I thought it was upside down. All I saw was a thick tan substance over the whole surface. I assume it was supposed to be gravy/sauce. It was the consistency of pudding. The chicken was huge chicken chunks that were rubbery and terrible and tasted like artificial garlic. The rice was flavorless and nothing like tradition fried rice. I dont usually write negative reviews, but on this, I had no choice.

My wife had the sesame chicken and said it was the best she has ever had. Prices are pretty good too considering how much things have gone up.

My regular place was closed today, so I had to try something different. Hong Kong Cafe was the nearest place to me. And it was terrific. The prices were good the food was incredible. I may have a new regular place.

Tasty food and friendly service! The parking nearby is free. The veggies were vibrantly colored and cooked just right, not too mushy.
