I have been eating at Hong Kong 97 for 10+ years. There food has always been really good, never been disappointed. Fair prices, large portions and good quality….hard to beat! Also the staff is awesome! Really friendly, great energy and on top of everything. The Bar on the other side is a good choice as well, they pour really good drinks. I quit drinking alcohol recently, but used to go in there for a couple drinks after work fairly regularly. Bar staff is great as well. I hope you enjoy it, I feel like good Chinese is kinda hard to find these days.

The food is very deep fried to the point where is too crispy. The fried rice and the way it is made doesn’t seem to have the spices that give that authentic Chinese taste. I have ate Chinese food all of my life and wouldn’t it eat it every day if I could. This isn’t a terrible restaurant just not high quality that meets the prices they are charging for the food. 3 star review.

I prefer take out. Service is quick. Food is hot, Great tasting, fresh and not dried out like some locations. Price is decent for Great food. When ever I crave American Chinese food I stop in here. I enjoy their “Hot and Sour Soup”

If you’re craving old-school Chinese-American appetizers done right, Hong Kong 97 is a must-visit. The ambiance may not be the most polished, but the food more than makes up for it. Their egg rolls are crispy, golden perfection—truly the best I’ve had since High Hat in Tigard closed its doors. From the first bite, you’ll know you’re in for something special.
They have two locations, and while both serve consistently delicious food, I personally favor the one off McLoughlin. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just indulging in appetizers, Hong Kong 97 delivers comfort, flavor, and nostalgia in every dish.

Awesome place to spend lunch with. Very quiet and calming place. Food was really good, kinda missing a hint of something but loved it overall! Great price for the portion! $12 lunch for this delicious hunker!

First time here and won’t be the last time. Good mixed of Americanized Chinese food that I grew up with. The batter for the shrimp is one of the best around. Good flavor and not that deep fried taste. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will go back to try the different dishes.
Price vs quantity is very good. Reasonable price and portion size is about average.

Makes you feel at home. Very nice, anticipated what my kids would want and need, very thoughtful. Will definitely be coming back.

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The service was amazing, and the food was delicious, and you get a ton of food for the price you pay. Will go back.

This place is a hidden gem. Great food, kind staff, proportions are more than enough for leftovers. I have brought all of my friends and family here and have never been disappointed.

I like eating at the full service bar here. No kids, friendly bartender and decent pours if red wine 🙂 I know, I know… Red wine and Chinese food? To each his own. The happy family specialty is great as is the cashew chicken. My favorite is an order of huge homemade potstickers. Get the bar version of 3 if you are watching carbs 🙂
