Really good restaurant, went in here for a haircut and saw this place. Did not originally know where this was as a year ago I tried looking but couldn’t find it since that was my first time downtown and I assumed it was closed or gone. I just so happened to see it in the tiny mall after getting a haircut. Really good food and I enjoyed it, definitely will come back for yams since they were unavailable that day, but I enjoyed my meal and really liked the lemonade. Glad I was able to find this place, there aren’t many soul food places in Peoria left.

Catfish was to die for. Yams, mac n cheese, and collard green where all great. Definitely some from scratch cooking going on here. Owner was very sweet. Couldnt stop to take a photo but food presentation in my to go box was solid as well. Keep up the good work!

The location in the mall is really small, only run by one lady at least when I went. So, naturally, slow service. Bout 20-30 minute wait on my order.
But I know a good soul spot when I see one.
And good LORD that food is good. Friend and I got meatloaf. I got it with mac, him with the yams. So good. As satisfying as soul food gets. Tipped a whole 10 bucks just for how good it was on top of a 20%. Worth it for sure.

I just went there for a work event. Every single food item that we ordered was absolutely off the charts delicious! An absolutely adorable restaurant with super friendly and helpful weight staff… I could not be more excited to return and try more of the insanely decadent desserts and fabulous entrees. I just moved to Peoria back in December of 2023 and this has been hands down the best restaurant experience I’ve had so far! I cannot wait to bring friends and family to this cute little restaurant!

The BEST catfish, sides, and service. The woman who runs the place is super nice and definitely cooks with love. The catfish was perfect, she makes her own batter and the spaghetti was flavorful and sweet. 10/10 recommend

don’t sleep on this spot! we loved the fried catfish (pillowy and flavorful) and the pork chops smothered in gravy (sooo tender and fatty). the rice is also well-seasoned.

The food was really great. Homemade, with a smile. I got the wings and mac and cheese and both were excellent. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade – and it was delicious. Maybe worth a walk just for the lemonade! We will be back. Great little lunch spot. Support small businesses!
