Fantastic food, very high quality chicken, and the skin is super crispy. We got the Hot Honey Chicken Plate, Three Piece Plate, and greens, mashed potatoes, and Cole slaw for sides. Comes with great cornbread! Take out only, food was ready in ~5 minutes. Great to have a restaurant like this on this side of town.

I was recommended here by a friend. It smelled delicious as soon as I walked in. I spoke with another customer while he was waiting for his order and he spoke very highly of the whitefish. Once I made my order I learned that I was fortunate enough to be speaking with the owner. Small business owner, passionate about her craft, and over-and-above friendly. My friend ordered the hot honey chicken with Mac and cheese and green beans. I ordered the fried pork chops with yams and greens. I can’t speak highly enough of just how delicious each of these dinners were. And the sweet cornbread was the perfect accompaniment. If you’re familiar with the term umami that is probably the best way to describe this southern food. Each bite just made me feel good about the world and my presence in it. I can’t wait to go again.

First time customers. We were excited to try it as we live near the new location. My husband said that catfish had a burnt taste (possibly from the oil) and the mashed potatoes tasted instant and had no gravy. I was extremely disappointed that I received only 2 wings for my chicken & waffles for $12.65. I would have preferred to have tenders instead of 2 small wings.

I’ve seen Honey J’s on TikTok a few times and wanted to give it an honest review. I ordered about $45 worth of food and left a $5 tip.
The chicken is good and clearly good quality, not like fast-food chicken. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s solid. The sauces were amazing. The hot honey, Honey J sauce, and BBQ were all great. I do think the chicken could use more seasoning, but overall it was fresh and worth the price.
The fries will be a skip for me next time. They were soggy with little flavor and no seasoning. The baked beans are good. The yams, though, are phenomenal. They taste like real Thanksgiving yams, the kind somebody’s granny would make.
The mac and cheese is delicious and much better than most restaurant mac, which usually disappoints me. The cornbread is also really good. It tastes a lot like Jiffy cornbread mix, which I love, but with extra touches and a nice buttery top. I just wish it had been served warm.
The mashed potatoes are okay. They’re definitely instant, and while the gravy is good, it’s nothing special. One big area for improvement would be food temperature. Everything was just barely warm and close to being cold, and the cornbread was served cold. Serving the food hot would make a huge difference.
The peach nectar drink was good.
Overall, it’s solid comfort food. It’s not the best ever, but it’s the best place I’ve tried so far that actually tastes like home cooking. I’ll be back. Best order combo is the tenders, yams, mac, and cornbread.

What a wonderful and amazing meal. Had the fried catfish plate with mix greens and Mac&Cheese. Ordered an extra chicken thigh which was a wise choice. Catfish was tender and favorable while maintaining itself temperature hotness throughout the meal. There was no seating inside but well worth eating on the tailgate of the truck. We will back again.

Honey J is a southern special. If you remember back in the day pulling up to your granny’s house to grab a plate.. well that’s them!! There is a large variety of yummy sides and main dishes to choose from and trust me you won’t go wrong with any one.

Hello I came in and got the 10-Wing party plate tossed in Buzzing buffalo extra $1.50 charge sadly I just got plain chicken wings . Overall the food is bomb and very good especially the Buffalo chicken sandwich just hope next time for future reference I get my order met up to my request.
