First time at a “Honey-Jam Cafe” i will absolutely be back! Luis “LULU” Valazquez took amazing care of our table! I had to make some substitutions he didn’t hesitate. The meal came out and i was so excited to try and eat this delicious meal! Make sure you come to visit LULU and get yourself a glass of fresh squeezed Orange Juice!!

Met some friends here today. Was there early and was not overly busy. We were seated and waitress took our order. Ordered simple breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. Meal arrived rather quickly.
Thought this was good. Well it was luke warm. Asked for syrup several times. I should have sent back. But at this point, I was sorta done. Next time we will try the other location in Downers Grove, which was highly recommended.

Edit: This place became a favorite and I’ve gone MANY times now. However, I needed to change my review. 2 visits ago I received a BBQ Chicken Tortilla Salad. It tasted off and I came to realize the beans tasted spoiled. I got it replaced without beans and it was fine. However, it seemed like I was not believed. Last visit, I ordered the same thing, and after 3 bites I realize something is off. After closely inspecting my salad I noticed mold on a lot of the cheese that was hiding under the dressing. I opted for no replacement as this was my second time now. My guests mentioned their salads were not cold so it could be a potential fridge issue. However, the restaurant did not take the issue seriously again and I was informed the manager/kitchen believe someone touched blue cheese before the cheddar. UNACCEPTABLE. I was not believed again and it was clearly mold and I regret not taking a picture. Will not be returning to this location as it is clearly a recurring issue now with their ingredients which they do not plan on changing.
Previous: I’ve been here 3 total times now. The restaurant is spacious, the food is delicious with various options to choose from for breakfast or lunch, and the service has been great and attentive. I brought someone with dietary restrictions, and they enjoyed it as well.

I’ve visited the Downers Grove location before, so I came into this one with pretty high expectations. The restaurant had a lively feel, but compared to my previous visit it ended up feeling a bit underwhelming.
Breakfast was good enough, just not memorable. The flavours seemed muted and a little one dimensional, and a couple of items arrived only lukewarm. The potatoes were soft without much crispness, and the toast lacked that fresh crunch you hope for. Portions were fair and everything was presented nicely, but the seasoning needed a boost and nothing really stood out as a must order.
The coffee was the biggest disappointment for me, the taste just wasn’t there and I couldn’t finish it. On the positive side, the service and the overall atmosphere were enjoyable, and that’s really what helped bring my rating up.

Great breakfast selection! Amazing food for sure. It was my 3rd time there. Every single time though, the servers take forever to get to you. So you wait a long time until they actually take your order. But the cooks are really fast and efficient. Worth the wait, but it also wasn’t busy the last 2 times I went. Slow service but amazing food.

Today I visited Honey Jam Cafe. There’s multiple locations in Illinois. I’ve visited the Downers Grove location a few years ago, but today we’re trying out the latest location in Oakbrook.
The hubby got a create your own omelette with pancakes and I got the strawberry orange juice with a steak skillet with cinnamon roll pancakes.
Overall the food was good, but we did have an issue with our server.
First – she didn’t greet us or tell us Happy New Year. Literally as I was taking off my coat before sitting down, she was already asking what we wanted to drink. We hadn’t yet sat down to go over the menu!
Secondly, she messed up the bill by adding our total as well as another customers. Thankfully the manager caught it and fixed it before we paid at the front.
I’m going to give this restaurant 4 / 5 stars for the food.
3 stars for service and for the experience 3.5 – only because the manager assisted us. If I decide to go to Honey Jam Cafe again, it will definitely be a different location.

1st time here and very impressed! Felt like an elevated version of Egg Harbor. Great kid meals. Gluten-free pancakes and strawberry orange juice were fantastic! Lots of fun special beverages. Also lunch items like chicken tinga, which I’d love to go back to try! I’ve been back and had their delicious chilaquiles verdes special! Yum!
