Honest Restaurant has become one of my go‑to spots in Charlotte for flavorful, authentic vegetarian Indian food. The menu is huge, but the quality is consistently impressive — everything tastes fresh, vibrant, and true to the street‑food style they’re known for.

Among the dishes I tried, the pav bhaji was a standout with its rich, buttery flavor and perfectly toasted pav. The Kattapa sandwich was surprisingly delicious — a fun, spicy, Indo‑fusion twist that really works. I also loved the Bhakri pizza, which had a crisp base and bold toppings that made it feel both comforting and unique.

For mains, the pulav was aromatic and satisfying, and the Indo‑Chinese options didn’t disappoint either. The Manchurian had great texture and flavor, and the Paneer Chilli struck that perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and savory.

The service was friendly and quick, and the space is clean and welcoming. Whether you’re craving classic Indian street food or want to explore something new, Honest Restaurant delivers great taste and value. I’m already excited to go back and try more from their menu.

We have been here a couple of times. The first time we ordered the kattappa sandwich which was good. The next time we ordered triple schezwan fried rice and the veg garlic noodles. After 40 mins of ordering we finally got the schezwan garlic fried rice which was wet and the rice was a little raw. Later we came to know that it comes with a gravy which was not served. The garlic noodles was not good, it was strong on soya sauce and definitely will not be ordering it here.

Update : we had been here for dinner and we ordered vada pav and kattapa sandwich . Both were good, the vada pav was good with the spices added.

Honest restaurant Charlotte is a big disappointment specially for those who have grown up eating honest all their childhood in Ahmedabad. We waited really long for it to come here and it was to my utmost disappointment.
Mr Vijay bhai hope you read this review.
I am not just posting this review, but this really means a lot to me as honest it means a lot to me.
I have been to many honest restaurants in US and all of them were Expectation. Somehow, this particular location has not been successful to match the taste.
I ordered bhel and the picture shows what I got..
Was it a joke? It was just some mumra with a tiny sprinkle of tomato and onions…zero potatoes and no sev or papdi inside..
I am pretty sure I just ordered bhel and not any diet version of mumra…
I paid 8$ for just that?
I really need to know who serves bhel without sev?
Instead just name it mumra with chutney../
This was beyond my disappointment
I hope they do something here

I ordered 3 vada pav. My previous order was very good, but this time it was disappointing. The pav was not toasted and there was no masala in between and it’s smells so bad. I wanted to share this feedback and request everyone to be careful before ordering next time.

Wow, this place is fantastic, y’all! Don’t sleep on this place, because you will NOT leave hungry. Such a delicious variety of dishes and sauces to try…and they make their own pav and bread in house! So yummy, and the friendly staff are perfectly willing to help an newbie select something scrumptious 🙂

Had the Danang Dosa, and seriously…I would’ve licked the plate if I could’ve. Mango lassi was yummy and a perfect complement to all that delicious spiciness—if your lips aren’t tingling at the end of the meal, you’re not doing it right, folks!

What a lovely find in the UC area, and I will be back with friends to keep working through this extensive menu

During our visit to IKEA Charlotte, we found Honest nearby, close to Patel Brothers. We tried the dosa, thali meals, and cashew tawa pulav.

Dosa and thali were good, though the tawa pulao didn’t stand out. The service, ambience, and parking were good, and we would visit again

I recently visited Honest Indian Vegetarian Restaurant and had a mixed experience.

To start with the positives, the ambience is quite inviting clean, modern, and comfortable and the staff is courteous and attentive, which adds to the overall pleasant vibe of the place.

However, when it comes to the food, it didn’t quite meet expectations. I ordered the Tawa Vegetable Palaw with Cucumber Raita. While the raita was refreshing and well-balanced in flavor, the Tawa Palaw lacked the depth and spice profile typically associated with this dish. It felt under-seasoned and didn’t leave much of an impression on the palate.

Another point worth noting is the pricing. While the quantity served is fair, I found the restaurant to be on the expensive side for the quality and taste delivered. Value for money is a crucial factor, and in this case, it fell short.

Overall, while the service and setting are commendable, the food needs refinement especially at the price point offered.

Ordered Dry Gobi Manchurian, Tawa Paneer Pulao and Hakka noodles. There were just 5-6 pieces of the dry gobi Manchurian. Definitely not worth the price!!!
The Tawa Paneer Pulao was terrible to say the least. We asked for spicy and literally tastes of raw chilli powder. The veg hakka noodles was decent.

The perfect accompaniment to a desi geocery store. Go for their dosas, vada, pav bhaji and chat options. Skip the mango lassi and noodles.

Overall experience was ok.

We were excited for Honest to finally open in CLT after having experienced it in NJ and ATL.

Overall food is ok and the flavour can be on mild side and depending on what you order can vary.

We order:
• Bahubali Sandwich: This was tasty and great quantity. Would recommend.
• Veg Hakka Noodles: This was good as well but lacked distinct flavor, feeling bland at times especially since mine lacked salt.
• Onion Chilli Uttapam: This is good and typical uttappa can be expected, quantity is less (expected) and chatni and sambar helps with flavor.
• Pav Bhaji: This was disappointing for taste, may need more work. My companion ordered it and she gave this 1/5 and also made her feel stomach sick. Don’t recommend.

Some of these experiences and lack of quality in taste could be perhaps the staff being new (visited on 2nd day of opening).
