Went to Hondos for a birthday dinner and the only things good about this restaurant are the wait staff and the ambiance. I don’t know if it was an off night in the kitchen but none of the sides were salted. Steaks were fine, but the mac n cheese came out cold and separated. The bechamel in the au gratin was separated. The “garlic” mashed potatoes didn’t have one speck of seasoning in them. The Caesar salad was good. They gave us a slice of cheesecake and a very beautifully decorated plate. All the staff was lovely and very attentive. The food was not up to par for the price

We ate here for the first time last night and i must say it was absolutely delicious. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly to perfection and the blue cheese melted so perfectly on top. It was definitely worth the price and we will be going back. My baked sweet potato was on point as well along with all our other sides. Thanks for the great food.

Edit: We returned to Hondos after the Marketing Manager reached out to us and incentivized us to give the restaurant another chance. We had a much better experience and the server really went out of his way to take great care of us and make us feel like valued guests. I have since bumped up my stars as a result of how the restaurant both acknowledged and rectified our original complaint. The food was cooked to order and delicious, too!

We received a gift card for Christmas, which is why my husband and I decided to try Hondo’s again after several years of frequenting other nearby steakhouses. In short, after $170, one of us left hungry, and both of us left deeply disappointed.
My husband ordered a $99 Wagyu steak that arrived cold. More concerning, it took over 20 minutes for a server to check on us after the food was delivered. During that time, both of our drinks sat empty. You can also see in the photo that dishes remained on the table while we continued waiting for the situation to be addressed. When the issue was finally acknowledged, the server offered to “heat it up,” which is not an acceptable solution for a premium Wagyu steak served cold.
By the time anyone followed up, I had already finished my meal—which was satisfactory and the sole reason for two stars—and my husband had no interest in waiting another 30 minutes for a recook.
To be fair, we gave multiple opportunities for this to be made right. A manager did comp the steak (appropriately, given that it wasn’t eaten) and offered dessert, but at that point we simply wanted to leave rather than prolong an already long and frustrating evening.
We were also told by the manager someone in Marketing would follow up with us about the experience, but more than a week passed with no contact. I then submitted my information through Hondo’s website requesting—again—that someone reach out, and never heard back. Our visit was on December 14, so staff being “off for the holidays” wouldn’t apply here.
We regularly dine at high-end steakhouses and are well aware of what proper service, timing, and execution should look like at this price point. This experience fell far short. With so many excellent prime steak options nearby, Hondo’s definitely sits firmly at the bottom of our list, and we have no plans to return.
At nearly $100 per meal (including salad and sides), service and accountability matter—and in this economy, they are priceless.

Hondos is simply phenomenal. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the service was top-notch. Seriously, from start to finish, it was a perfect dining experience. If you’re looking for a restaurant that consistently delivers on all fronts, look no further. Go to Hondos, you won’t regret it! This place has earned its place as my new favorite.

Went to a work dinner last night and had dinner in one of their private rooms. It was REALLY nice! The apps were incredible. My favorite was the seared tuna which our waiter suggested, and he was right how good it was. I loved the brie cheese app as well, was delightful. The calamari were wonderful. I had the fried flounder and crab cake entree. No complaints! The star of the evening was the dessert; the pecan pie was incredible! I don’t usually go after the bread and butter, but their butter is whipped and really sweet, hard to say no to it! I’d come back in a heartbeat! Our server was excellent. He did a nice job with a large group. Thanks!

It’s very hard to beat Hondos for any occasion. We were sent an email to celebrate our anniversary with them, so we did. My wife and I had a wonderful evening. The food was amazing! Service is always the best of the best. If you have a special event or occasion, Hondos is a must. They even have great lunch specials. If you haven’t tried them, don’t hesitate.

Really nice dining experience! Steak Hondo was really good and the delicate pepper crust on the Steak – Au Poivre was insanely good!! Every bit of the ribeye melted in your mouth as a result of being cooked to proper temperature. As for the sides, the clear winner was the creamed spinach for sure!! Bon Appétitoooooooo!!

We love Hondos and typically have very good service. Last night was an exception. We enjoy being members of the email club and the perks that come with it. We received our BOGO for Halloween and booked our reservation. Our server was inattentive and, it would seem, overwhelmed. We ordered 4 course meals, placed our order and then waited. My soup arrived and my husband’s did not. Our server came through our dinning area numerous times seeing to other tables and never once looked our way. After 15-20 minutes she realized her mistake and came by to say his soup “would be right out.” Another 5 minutes or so went by and finally she appeared, said she was sorry for forgetting it and set down the soup. She stated “they made a fresh batch for him” after saying she forgot. There was no need for an excuse, it was clear she just forgot. The soup was scalding hot, like fresh from a microwave, and it blistered his mouth. He was unable to finish it because she rushed our salads to us. We enjoy the pace of our meals at Hondo’s and being forgotten and then rushed led to a most unenjoyable experience. We waited so long for our entrees! When we finally received our food my husband’s tea glass was empty, and had been for some time, and no refill was offered. Sometime later, he was finally offered a refill but by that time we were ready for our check. We asked that our desserts be boxed up and asked our check brought. Mary Willa then realized his empty glass and brought refills. Our desserts and check arrived sometime later. I’ve asked for my dessert to be boxed up numerous times and never felt the need to check that it was correct. Lesson learned! I checked this morning and one was correct and the other was wrong!
We come to Hondos for the wonderful food, atmosphere, attentive servers and to enjoy each other. Your food is high quality and typically the service is stellar. Last night was terrible, stressful and disappointing. Mary Willa made excuses for her forgetfulness and inattention based on the BOGO and being so busy. For your prices, I expect better.
