My dad used to take us to Homer’s in the 1980’s on our way back from visiting his mom in a nursing home. The only ice cream (and one of few desserts) I ever saw him eat so it has special memories for me. But other than ordering it at restaurants around Chicagoland that carry Homer’s, I haven’t been back in 30 years.

The burger was decently good. However it wasn’t anything spectacular. Fries on the other hand were great but I would skip on the cheese. The food was served quickly however they did forget the cheese for the fries. Staff was quick to fix the issue and were overall friendly. In general it’s a decent stop for a quick and affordable bite.

I stopped by for the first time and was indecisive between the banana macadamia chip or cappuccino chip but they were out on the banana soooooooooooo cappuccino it was. Glad I went with the cappuccino chip because it was so good and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips in it. Loved the coffee taste. I’m definitely coming back to try the banana macadamia!

Honestly, I think Hartigans down in Wilmette has wayy better ice cream. over here the amount they give is too little. however this is still a historical spot with cool staff and a great place to hang out with friends. maybe their actual food items are better.

Here’s what you need to know: peach ice cream is UHMAZING. You gotta have it. Chris – I think the manager – provides the best most joy filled service. Great experience with great ice cream, fast (given the line on a hot Saturday afternoon) and Uber friendly service.

The best ice cream I have ever had!!! The simple chocolate one is unbelievable (I had also the coconut, my friends had mint). After this all the other ice creams do not feel the same anymore. I will definetely visit this place many many times and will add photos next time (I forgot to take pictures, because it was so good).

We LOVE Homer’s!! Best ice cream in the North Shore. We got here a bit before 9pm on a Monday night and the place was packed. They have a great variety of flavors and their portions are very generous. The decor is old school / tacky but the ice cream parlour experience is just marvellous.

We’re in our 50s and 60s. Our grandmother used to bring us to Homer’s for special days and we’d get a hot dog and peppermint ice cream. Now we all live out of town but came home for my brother’s birthday. We decide to see if Homer’s is even still open and to our wonderful delight it is!
