I’ve been a returning customer for over 10 years. The banchan has always been consistent and delicious, and the entrees are always made with so much love and effort. I got the mackerel and knife cut noodles this time, and the mackerel was cooked perfectly with the right amount of char. The broth for the noodles was rich in flavor and the noodles cooked just perfect. I love the friendly waitress, she checked in with us frequently and refilled the side dishes once she saw we were out. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Became a regular here pretty quickly after trying the Kal Guk Soo and I’ve been hooked since! Sebi and Maria are so kind and welcoming, and the waitstaff is always attentive. Really yummy banchan too! Highly recommend and I’ll be bringing my friends and family back for more!

Miss Young had us at the warmer part of the restaurant, her family has photos of their very cute twin puppies on the way, and she gave the biggest pieces of squid ever in our hot pots!! It is the type of spicy where you don’t go home feeling stingy ☺️

Best Korean Restaurant in town. All the dishes were flavorful and comforting. Out server was so kind and patient with us. It was our first time here and she asked our preferences so she knew what to recommend. Love the Seafood pancake, dumplings and the Beef Tang soup

This is normally one of my regular restaurants that I go to! They’re normally really good with service but this time was different. Upon walking in, there were two other tables there, one table was finishing their food and the other was still looking at the menus. Once we decided what we were ordering, we had ordered two sodas, two appetizers and a noodle dish so that me and my girlfriend can have a variety to spit. The waitress was very attentive to the other tables, except us. We never got our drinks nor the little side dishes that says it comes with every meal. But that was a misunderstanding on my end, once I brought that issue up to the waitress she explained how the noodle dish isn’t an actual meal so it wouldn’t come with the little dishes on the side. But we were pretty much done with our meal and still never got our drinks, at that point it wasn’t worth it. I told her we never got our drinks still but that I’d like to just cancel it because we were at the end of our meal already. Finally, we finished our meal and asked for to go containers and set our empty dishes aside we waited for it to go containers for 15 almost 20 minutes. I think there was some heavy lack of communication because our server thought our food was already taken care of, because when she walked over, she said she had thought her sister got us to go containers already. After packaging up our food, she walked over with the machine to pay and asked if it would be cash or card and I paid with card. She held the machine, putting it in front of me before I got to see the receipt so I asked if I could see the receipt to make sure everything was correct and I did leave a $10 tip but with the lack of service on our end I don’t think the $10 tip was deserved:(

Authentic Korean barbecue experience! Such a precious little restaurant and great service! Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. We went on valentines and it was the perfect, unique experience. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the sides and meat. It was half the price of other Korean bbq in town but twice as delicious!

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years! The server and the cook got old but their food never change! I called to placed an order and eat there, when we pulled up, the food are already served nice and hot on the table and ready to eat! Really nice people, atmosphere are classic! If you want a authentic Korean Food, Home Town Restaurant is the best in Anchorage! I am a uber driver, and I always recommend Home Town Restaurant on our tourist! Good job and keep it up!
