Very nice place and the staff was super nice to me as a veteran. I was in town for one only and my wife wanted to treat to something good. I grew up in that area but left in 1980 to join the military. I live in Texas now. I’m looking forward to my next trip back home.

Me and my friend was looking for a good place to eat today, so we chose Home Plate Dinner. That was a mistake!! The food was a big surprise, it was awful. I got the chicken pot pie. But, it had 2 little small pieces of chicken and I mean small. pieces, no vegetables. Other than 2 tiny pieces of carrots and 2 tiny gray English peas. Half of my plate was nothing but the dough and it was not completely cooked. I did talk to the boy at the register, but the only thing he had to say was the amount of my bill. Me and my husband had eaten there for many years before he passed away. The food and the prices were ridiculous. This was my last time to go in the Home Plate Diner.

If you are looking for a home cooked meal, like your Mama or Grandma cooked, this is DEFINITELY the place to go. They have the best food and employees of any place I’ve ever been.
