The food is good. Home of the Hoagy is a staple on the Southside of Chicago. Been coming here since I was a child and the taste is still the same. One thing for sure is it’s authenticity. Brings people from all over. Now you may complain about the long line, but you not leaving without your sandwich and that’s facts.

Someone recommended this place to me because the place I used to get them from when I was younger isn’t there anymore. The sweet steak sandwich and fries with sauce did not disappoint. This is the sandwich they are famous for. I ordered right away but they had a nice little crowd there so I did have to wait about 30 mins(I expected it though). Food was delicious

The food is amazing. Unfortunately, the wait time is ridiculously long even after calling in an order 2hrs before since I live out of state. The process should be updated to better serve the people in & out of state. Such a great place for a good hoagie too. I may not be back though.

I don’t know what happen but the meat is just different on the subs. The meat just soggy and wet. I heard they used to be bomb, this my first time and I’m not impressed. I finally worked up the courage to travel to Roseland dodged bullets and all just to be disappointed. I want my money back.

The food here was ok.We called in our order and still had to wait an hour to get the food. The location had a 20 or so people waiting for their order in a crowded room with not enough chairs to sit down. They only take cash, which is stupid. My fries were soggy. The steak sandwich was just ok,but not good enough to wait an hour to get it.

Waited over an hour for two sandwiches. The sandwich was subpar at best. My out of town guess that requested it enjoyed it so…there’s that. Check them out if you’re in the area…Call in may be a lil faster.

I have not been here in a while, at least 2-3 years. The place is bigger. That means enough room to wait. The one thing that has not changed is the wait time. If you call in you still going to wait. If you come in, and order, of course you’re going to wait. So first off if you didn’t place your order by phone, get in line and place your order. Then get in the other line and pay for your order. Then wait for your order. If you called in your order, stand in line to let them know you’re there. Then wait for your name to be called. Then pay for your food. The food is the same delicious, and filling. The steaks sandwich with sauce, and fries with sauce are delicious. Also I remember being able to eat one sandwich all on my own. My bag was heavy so I thought they gave me the wrong order. Believe me when I got home I had a bag full of fries and a sandwich that was nicely sized. I can’t eat all of this I will have to save some for later. I also picked up a extra sandwich for the hubby we’ll see if he eats it. I know it’s it will be too much for me to eat two sandwiches in a week. After this I’m going to need to hit the gym. Stay safe everybody you got to visit this place but be prepared to wait.

Always Great ,A Pleasure To Visit My Neighborhood Favorite Sandwich Shop .I Have Tried Other Steak And Hoagys None I Have Tried Can Compare To Home Of The Hoagy. My Family Eats Here Sometimes Twice A Month In The Spring And Summer Months.We Eat From Here The Other Months Just Not As Often We Now Live In Indiana. It’s always Crowed ( Sure Sigh Of Good Food) We Always Order 2 Large Hoagys Cut In Half, 2 Sweet Hot Steaks,1 Large Fry With Lite Steak Sauce. When People Say Hoagys If The Don’t Mention Home Of The Hoagy ,I Turn Up My Face No Thank You. Home Of The Hoagy Is Often Imitated Never Duplicated.
