Wow! We were in town for a couple days and looked for a new foodie spot to try.
“Home of the Hoagy” popped up on YouTube by a food reviewer.
Being our first time, we called the establishment expecting nobody to answer, but after a few tries, someone answered. I told her it was our first time and she was warm, patient answering my questions, and professional…..she even said…”its ok, I got you baby”.
When we arrived, we saw exactly what was said in the YouTube food review, many people sitting, waiting for their food.
Again, the staff greeted EVERYONE warmly, with patience, clear instructions, and smiles.
We finally got our large hoagie, sweet steak sandwich, and fries. We went to our truck and shared it with our family of 4….WOW!!!
A 10!! It was simply amazing, filling, and something I have never experienced before. Outstanding Hoagy, Sweet steak and fries!!
On the Hoagy, I think the cheese adds no value, but someone else might love it.
Great job on the Hoagy, the sweet steak sandwich, and those soggy fries. Bomb food!
On another note, i had my young son wait with me, no mast music playing, cussing, or nothing inappropriate.
Its ALWAYS good to see OUR people doing a wonderful job, serving others, and enjoying it.

*UPDATE* I’m lowering my review from 4 stars to 3 stars. I’ve been here at least 4 times now. My order has never once been ready at the time it should be. I always end up waiting 15-30 minutes longer. Additionally, my sweet steak sandwich was dry the last two times. They didn’t put enough sauce and the sandwich really isn’t good without the sauce. The bread was also tough, maybe not as fresh. One of the times I went, my food was barely lukewarm, even though I waited in the restaurant for 20 extra minutes before my call in order was ready. I would have expected the food to be fresh/hot after it took over an hour to be ready. I’m not sure if/when we’ll be back here based on all of our experiences. The first time, the food was REALLY good. But the last 3 times, it was average or below average.

I went here for the first time recently and the food was easily 5 stars. The sweet steak sandwich and fries were incredibly flavorful and delicious. I can’t say a single negative thing about the food. It was hot, fresh and everything had the perfect amount of seasoning. The steak was extremely tender with absolutely no fatty/weird pieces. My mouth is actually watering just thinking about it.
The employees were also super friendly. From the guy who took my order on the phone and answered my questions, to the woman who handed me my order.
The ONLY reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the amount of time it took the food to be ready. They said it would be around 45 minutes to an hour, and it took a little over an hour and 20 minutes. I understand it’s a popular place and they’re busy, but I just wish it didn’t take THAT long for 2 sandwiches and fries.
My advice is, don’t go here expecting to be in and out. Order an hour before you get there, and you might only have to wait 10-20 more minutes when you get there. But the food is 100% worth the wait. I can’t wait to go back soon.

Little hole in the wall, but their food makes up for it! We got the original steak sandwich, lg special cold cut (Italian), and fries. This could feed 4 people! The steak sandwich is drenched in a sweet/au jus sauce, same as the fries. CASH ONLY, but they got an atm just outside too.

Food is very good. Worth the drive from Naperville. However, if your going to have a cash only business, you should make sure you have working, free, ATMs for your customers, right? The outside should be clean, not muddy. Is that asking too much?

The service is getting there as you wait about 30 minutes now compared to the 45-60 minutes in the past. The food is always worth it. Steak sweet and hot, large turkey wet and fries, plain with sauce on side (keeps them from getting soggy if one cares). Off the chain ALL THE TIME!

In store be decent but every order through ubereats has been horrible, ordered a sweet steak that tasted like a giant relish, didn’t post about the first order because I figured I’d give them a second shot and this was horrible. I ordered the sweet steak sandwich and the wait wasn’t too bad but honestly I wasn’t a fan of the sandwich. The sandwich had this Italian seasoning taste to it which I wasn’t a fan of for this particular sandwich but the sandwich was huge and looked like it would be really filling.
