Great little restaurant/store! Ate last night in the restaurant with the family. We had both pulled pork and brisket, and both were delicious! The brisket was “melt in your mouth” cooked to perfection. Hushpuppies, mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, were spot on! The owner/manager was so nice and helpful from the moment we walked in the door until the time we left. We will definitely be back!

This was our second time eating here and once again it didn’t disappoint. The first time my husband and I tried out Holly Smokes BBQ was at the end of season. They were leaving the next morning I believe it was Jamaica for vacation. We wanted to try it out again and we had the perfect opportunity. A group of friends came up from SWFL for our annual spiritual retreat. Those that came up early had supper with us Tuesday night. We had 8 of us total the night and everything was amazing. I had the pulled pork sandwich, green beans and Mac-n-cheese. The Fire and sweet BBQ sauces mixed together. In fact I believe everyone ordered pulled pork. Some had hushpuppies, and they loved them. I didn’t get any pictures of our food unfortunately. But after we ate I took everyone over to the fudge. By Wednesday afternoon our entire retreat were back for more. The owners, husband and wife are positively amazing. Very sweet, and really love what they are doing. She even made a special fudge butter pecan (amazing) one of my friends had asked about. Ma’am you definitely have an amazing talent. The raspberry pistachio was one I wasn’t sure about and she knocked it out of the park. Other flavors we have is tiger butter, reeses peanutbutter cup, Carmel apple, and pumpkin cheesecake.

We ate at Holy smokes bbq last night and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had! The brisket was fresh and hot. Absolutely delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was also delicious; I’d recommend the mashed potatoes or mac n cheese as a side. The owner was super friendly and all of the staff was very helpful. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

This is located very near Beech Mountain resort. We decided to have lunch here before our drive back to the cabin. You order your food and there is a sit down area next to where you order. We ordered a cheeseburger, a Mac and cheese burger and shredded pork nachos.
The Mac burger was good. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy with good taste.
The cheeseburger was good as well. It was traditional with the normal ingredients but it had a good taste.
I had the shredded pork nachos. Nothing crazy with the traditional ingredients. It was ok …the nachos looked and tasted like commercial tortilla chips. The shredded pork tasted really good and the sour cream and veggies had a fresh taste.
They do not serve fries as a side..we had hush puppies, mashed potatoes with the burgers and they were pretty good.
There is a small gift shop with clothing and even plastic sleds to buy. Parking is limited as well .
We tried the homemade fudge and it was a amazing…highly recommended!!

This place was literally just up the main road from where we’re staying on our summer vacation so we thought we’d give it a try. They have a nice gift shop, ice cream and fudge and meats.
I had the brisket and pulled pork and my gf had the pulled chicken. They have tons of sauces and fountain drinks and we enjoyed it very much.
The owners are very friendly and the restaurant is very nice.

tried this place for the first time yesterday and it is spectacular!! all the staff are super sweet and food comes out super quick. I definitely recommend, the pulled pork is amazing!!!

Had high hopes but was pretty disappointing . Pretty sure everything we ordered today was microwaved . The Mac was barely warm at all and the chicken was super duper overcooked. For 10$ it wasn’t bad bad but wasn’t great either. I think fresh these items would be super great. Maybe we will try again before we leave

Delicious barbecue with a great selection of sauces. The sauces are all custom made and were created to go with the different types of smoked meats they offer. From the porch or around the building is a great view of Grandfather Mountain and Beech Mountain. The staff was very friendly, food was fast, and the atmosphere was cozy. Lots of other options (such as sandwiches and burgers) to try at another time!

I would highly recommend this place! We came of the slopes from a full day of skiing and were extremely hungry! The owner, Mr Mike, answered the phone and was super friendly. We were hoping for some brisket and he made arrangements for us to have the last bit after thinking they were sold out. My wife got the gobbler and loved it. I had the brisket platter, green beans, baked beans, mac & cheese, and Brunswick stew. Everything was very tasty. Our boys loved the food as well as the fudge that was made in house. We will definitely make this a staple to stop in again when we visit next time.

What a wonderful place to eat and watch the beautiful sceneries and the sauces are just fantastic and definitely will come back the pastries and the chocolates were divine. They must have great service and the people were amazing and Spike the one that creates the sauce and makes the sauce. He’s just amazing.
