The sauces were pretty decent for not being that spicy, but if you like spice the ghost pepper is the only one you get a big spice kick from, but it tastes like it’s made with jelly which ruins the meat flavor.
The cornbread is pretty good and the half chicken for 14$ was surprisingly good.
Not sure if it was because we got the platter, but it’s shown larger sides for other people here in their reviews, but for 28$ I would hope we would be granted a larger side for the price.
There was also a staple in my for which I do not believe to be their fault, but it was interesting to say the least.
The servers were all kind and nice though.
Overall, probably won’t recommend or come back, I would rather drive to big pine for copper top or find something else.
Unfortunately disappointing experience for 100$.
My wife had the spud bud with pulled pork (sorry no photo, food was too good to wait for me to get a photo), and I had the GF Ribs (not glazed), side of baked potato and salad.
All of the sauces are gluten free and have great flavor (didn’t try the ghost pepper).
The ribs were wonderfully done, great flavor and super tender.
Highly recommend the baked potato with onions and cheese!
The interior of the building is very cute with great decor.
Staff was super helpful and attentive. We received several visits after we had our food to check on us and our meals.
We will definitely be back for another visit.
Fun little place with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The barbecue was good—solid but not quite stellar. We both ordered the brisket sandwich with macaroni and cheese on the side. The portions were satisfying, and everything was served hot and fresh.
Service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. If we return, we’ll definitely try something different on the menu—there looks to be some promising options worth exploring.
Overall, a pleasant stop for a casual BBQ meal in Bishop.
I can only assume they hire a less experienced pit master.
– Brisket
Brisket I had today has no juice, just dry, chewy, cold thick piece of meat.
I had to use knife to cut it.
They didn’t trim excess fat properly.
There is no dry rub left on top of the meat and no visible smoke ring.
I’ve never experienced brisket without dry rub on top.
Temperature of the meat is way below room temp, almost cold.
They cut the meat so thick. Disappointing.
Some people probably really enjoy the overly sweet thing but it’s just not my style.
