2/23 Stopped in for a Saturday dinner. Same man near the bar as always. I like to think he runs the pit. Same delicious BBQ as i remembered. Thank you for a lovely dinner! Looking forward to coming back. I particularly enjoy the house BBQ sauce.

Food and style true to name. Love being outside and it’s low key. We like to over order and eat leftovers for days! I almost enjoy the sides even more than the meats LOL. My only critique is sometimes the service can be a little slow or you have to stay on top of them — but they are all kind and friendly anyway.

My first time here today for lunch was pleasantly surprising. I ordered the combo, which come with 2 meat choices. I chose St Louis, dry rub, and Texas brisket with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The portions were large and delicious. I do like when a restaurant pours your martini at the table and leave the shaker There was plenty to bring home to share.

Wait staff was very pleasant and professional. The food was not hot when served and I disliked the taste of the sauce on the food. The ambience is rustic and appealing with the opportunity to dine outside, which is a nice touch. Great probability that I will not be back though.

Great wings and ribs. Not disappointed ,worth a trip. The beans with the ribs are delish, cornbread is soft and full of flavor. Wish2 came in the order. Mac n’ cheese can do better but edible . The wind came with ranch sauce, not my choice would’ve rather have blue cheese instead.

Really went downhill. Got the platter combo for 2. Chicken was drier than a desert and burnt, sausage/chorizo was crispy and burnt, ribs had hardly any meat and was not cooked correctly. Has to rip at it to eat it. Brisket was dry, crumbly and had no flavor.

Ordered the “pig nic” dinner for two for and it was a bit disappointing. We ordered for pick up and the service was great, just wished the food matched.

The indoor portion of the restaurant is dark and not very nice. The outdoor portion is amazing. Nice tables and fire pit section. Ample parking. Only 1 bathroom, not very clean. Food: The ribs were amazing. That is the only reason they get 4 stars. Well seasoned, falling off the bone, amazing flavor. Sides were ok. Drink options were ok. A little disappointed on the NY micro breweries options. Service was satisfactory. All in all, I would go back for those ribs.

I’ve been to Holy Smokes before but it used to be at the Albany Post Road location. Now they just have this location and the food was pretty sub-par which is sad because they had great barbecue. We ordered the Philly cheese steak special, full rack of baby back ribs, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were pretty good. Philly cheese steak was not good at all. Ribs were fine.

The service was very slow. We waited about 15 minutes for sodas & had to ask twice for refills. The wings were cooked & seasoned very well but the sauce was lacking, and barely covered the entirety of the wings, they probably would’ve been better without any sauce. The empanadas were awful, I’m not even sure they were empanadas. The mashed potatoes were good but could’ve used more milk & butter. The service was really lacking & the waitresses all seemed bothered to be working.
