FRANKLIN… IT’S HAPPENING. Holy Chick! Mother Cruster! opens …
That was some Mother Crustin’ good pizza and chicken! Holy Chick …
Reviews
My wife had the chicken tenders and enjoyed them. I am a pizza guy and it was refreshing to find a nice Detroit style pizza which you don’t find too much of around here as most places just offer greasy cheese slop flavorless dough circles. I got the detroit option twice and the second time it was a little overcooked but I’m not judging this in comparison with the pizza that I’ve consumed around the world, this is going against what’s around.
Now regarding their “Neapolitan” style pies, this was the factor that kept me from going for five stars. Don’t get me wrong, the Margherita was tasty and edible but a proper Neapolitan pizza is light and fluffy, almost delicate. Just google it and notice the crust is like a gently charred pillow of mouthwatering goodness. I take pride in my obsession of true Neapolitan style so I am judging it on my worldly experiences and this did not make the cut. With all due respect – this leans more towards a personal jersey pie with quality ingredients.
My only complaint: SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FACT THAT THEY DON’T OFFER FRESH HALAPINYOS!!!!!!! SHAME – SHAME – SHAME!!!!!!!!
The prices are really cheap and worth it, and the vibe and atmosphere makes this a proper restaraunt, not a fast food place or diner but a real one with great food.
The food came out quickly, got a table quickly as well despite how crowded it was, the chairs are super fancy and comfortable, love the windows which welcome warm sunlight, great service, and the presentation of the water in a mason jar and the food.
Highly recommend this place and definitely will return!!!!!!!!!!!
The food is delicious and priced fairly, and everything we’ve ordered has come out no more than 10 minutes after we placed our order. For anyone saying they waited forever, that has not been our experience at all.
A special shoutout to Lee, the owner—he is incredibly kind-hearted, loving, and hardworking. He greets everyone who walks in and truly makes you feel welcome. You can tell how much care and passion goes into this place.
All the hate this place is getting really shouldn’t be happening until people actually try the food, meet the managing staff, and understand their mission to give back to the community. Their prices are fair and even less than McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s in the area, and this is fresh food—not fast food.
Holy Chick is doing it right, and we’ll absolutely be back again and again.
Was disappointed when they did not have their own website (for ordering or otherwise), and the online menu they provided through Google had the tagline “Online ordering has been disabled by the business.” So I drove down to go put my order in at the counter.
The first thing I noticed when going in was how it was a little difficult to communicate. There was music blasting over the speakers in the ceiling, and customers had to loudly talk at each other to be heard. I did not regret choosing to get my order to go. The cashier kindly took my order over the noise, and I sat nearby to wait. The arcade other reviews mention is tucked away in the back of the restaurant, by the door that goes outside to the non-ADA compliant bathroom trailer. In about 20 minutes, I got my food and was out the door.
I got the Flight Club of pizza strips (which saves you $0.25 a strip), and Chickmate Fingers. Half of the pizza strip flavors had pepperoni, which I did not want. So I got:
Mother Clucker: chicken with ranch drizzle, and a few bacon bits
Smokeshow: chicken with BBQ sauce drizzle, a few pickled onion strings
Queen B: goat cheese (tasted like mozzarella?) with honey drizzle, a little fig sauce, & a few pieces of very cooked prosciutto
Big Dill: crust, cheese, pickles, a little bit of bacon, and white sauce
Overall these were okay, but underwhelming. Do not let the photo fool you – the pizza box was the size of a vinyl record – each pizza segment was about the size of an index card. Most of the edges were burnt. These were fine, but I would not get them again. The “best” out of the ones I got was the Smokehouse, due to the pickled onions.
The Chickmate Fingers I got were “Medium” level – they said they do not offer “Hot” Level anymore. They were on the small side, and very weakly seasoned. If not for the container of MC Sauce included, they would not have tasted like much. The “Texas toast” was a slice of potato bread lightly toasted on one side – no butter or garlic. It was basically a slice of bread. If I were to get these again, I would need to rely on ordering different sides of sauce for flavor.
Overall: disappointing. Would go with friends who have never been there just so they can have their own experiences, but otherwise probably will not be back.
“A” mazingly delicious – left there so full and ordered more food to bring home for later.
Very cool vibe, excellent food. And the Detroit pizza did not disappoint, already thinking about the next one I want to try. You can even build your own. Great service super friendly staff and the owner, Lee is personable and really knows what he’s doing. We are so grateful to have Holy Chick in our neighborhood. Witnessed other guest devouring their food, chicken and waffles is definitely on my next time list which was highly recommended by the guy at the next table. Took home another staple to eat later, the Nashville Chicken Sandwich n some garlic Parmesan wings. Salads look great as well. A restaurant to frequent often!!
Yay!! — in Franklin.
We ordered Flight Club with the Eliot, Mother Cruster, Big Dill, and Smoke Show, plus the Chickmate Nashville and Chickmate Hot Honey with signature fries. Everything was incredible. The Eliot and Mother Cruster were my top favorites, but the Smoke Show and Big Dill were right behind them. The chicken was cooked perfectly—crispy, crunchy, and still juicy inside—with bold, delicious flavors. The signature sauce is AMAZING. We honestly didn’t even need the fries, but they were great too.
Dessert sealed the deal. The banana pudding was hands down the best I’ve ever had—fresh bananas made all the difference—and the chocolate shake was fantastic. I also loved the mason jar-style glasses with handles such a fun, unique touch.
What truly made this experience special was the personal service. The owner, Lee, came out to our table to introduce himself and later checked back in to see how everything was. And our daughter even received a cool bracelet, which she loved—such a thoughtful touch for kids. That level of care really stands out. Our server Amanda was attentive and friendly
My daughter can be picky, but she LOVED the Eliot pizza. The pepperoni wasn’t too spicy (huge win!), she loved the pickles, and Lee even brought her her own side of pickles. She also couldn’t get enough of the banana pudding.
Overall great food, fair pricing, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service. This place truly gets it. We will absolutely be back!
They make a fantastic Detroit Style Pizza and the chicken sandwiches are beyond delicious. Franklin is lucky to have this wonderful, new restaurant!
