Found this great bakery and breakfast place while traveling through Rochester, MN. The line was long when I entered the place, but wait wasn’t too long. I can see why it is so popular! The servings were large, tasteful and super friendly staff. The fresh muffins were also a big hit. I included a list of the options in my photos. Will definitely stop here again on my next visit. I had the omelette option with hollandaise sauce- I think it was called the Dutch omelette along with pancakes. The muffins I took home was the Triple Berry and Banana Nut Chip- both excellent. Show up early, so you can be at the front of the line.

This was our first time visiting and we were very excited. The restaurant was cold loud and a bit dirty. I sat on a bench that needed to be vacuumed of crumbs and quite hard for having a cushion. I had to ask for our table to be wiped of syrup that had been missed. The help was very friendly and timely. I ordered a cappuccino and it was not hot. Sent it back to be reheated and still came back not hot so I refused it. I ordered a plain pannekoekken which was delicious. My husband had a Dutch pot pie, which also was amazing. I ordered a side of bacon. It was surprised they would’ve served it as it looked and tasted burnt. Overall, we would come back and just order takeout and forgo the coffee and bacon.

I got the pumpkin flavored pannekoeken and it was awesome. The waitress did a little song and dance as she brought over the food. Our service was fast and the food portions are large enough to share. I highly recommend coming here if you’re visiting the Mayo Clinic.

We visited in the middle of the afternoon so didn’t get a song with our pannekoeken. We were seated right away. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We ordered the cheese curds, blueberry pannekoeken, mettwurst and sauerkraut, and the Rotterdam. The portions were generous and the food was very good! The mettwurst is locally made and it was wonderful!

Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 7:40 am, just before the anticipated morning rush. Around 8 am, there was a waiting list FYI. We were greeted immediately, seated and served a carafe of coffee by the hostess. No wonder the hostess had to serve our coffee, our waitress had numerous tables as it appeared she was the only one working at the time. I think we her 9th table, however, there appeared that there were several servers waiting until 8 am to start in the wings. I think this is something that ownership should address as it was uncomfortable to watch this waitress do the best she could without complaining. Moving on, besides watching the staff gradually taking part, it was amusing and interesting hearing the servers yell, “Pannekoeken” as they brought these dishes to the tables. Some were more enthusiastic than others, it was interesting nonetheless. We were subjected to this ritual as well and it was a bit uncomfortable, but we embraced it nonetheless. The coffee was spot on, hearty and robust. Never having Pannekoeken, it was a good experience for both of us. The pecan dish was very good, tasty and hit the spot. The bacon was a nice complement to the sweetness of the dough. The mettwurst, a first for us, was a great savory sausage to complement the sweetness of both dishes. Overall, the experience was very good and recommended. The dishes were just short of a five star review, it was close though. If I lived in the area, I think I would be a regular and visit quite often. It’s worth a trip IMO.

My favorite breakfast spot in Rochester. The muffin selection is amazing, the pancakes are delicious, and the Dutch skillet can’t be topped. The coffee and real cream is a perfect touch.

Fantastic Food! The Pannekoeken were super tasty. Kitchen was fast. Food came out piping hot. Even better than the food was the service by Carmen who brought our Pannekoeken singing Pannekoen it put big smiles on our faces.

We ordered 4 ham and cheese omelettes with hashbrowns, and it was really disappointing. All 4 omelettes were tiny, with barely any meat or cheese — more like a thin crepe of egg than an actual omelette. The hashbrowns portion was also small. It was super busy for a Saturday morning, but after being seated, we still waited over 15 minutes before our waitress greeted us.

The only thing I really enjoyed were the pancakes — they were fluffy and delicious. The water cups were very small, and no one came by to offer a refill, which was frustrating. I understand weekends can be hectic, but the food just wasn’t worth the price for such a small omelette and hashbrowns. The place does have cute decorations and a nice menu selection.
