Jollof rice was delicious, smoky, flavorful, and fresh tasting with a perfect spice level. I would come back for that alone. The plantains were tasty, ripe, and fried perfectly. This was my first time trying fufu and egusi. The fufu has a nice smooth texture and takes up the flavor of whatever it’s dipped in. The egusi was interesting to try. I enjoyed it for the most part but I think I will try something else next time. The flavors are an acquired taste. The chicken that came with the egusi was very tender and delicious. I gave the service 3 stars for a couple reasons.. I ended up paying more than the advertised prices on their website’s menu, they should probably update that. Also, I was told 20 minutes when I placed my order on the phone, I showed up 30 minutes later and still had to stand at the counter for 15 minutes while they finished the food. Other than that, the staff was polite and it was an overall good experience. I will be back

Spent 60 dollars on 3 entrees. 1 drumstick and rice is worth $20 dollars. Also the beef was rock hard, plantains were hard. Called back they wanted to do nothing at all about it. I do not recommend this place at all. Save your money

Disappointed is an understatement.
We drove an hour to try a new place. After having an excellent experience with East African cuisine, I thought I’d give West African food a try. This couldn’t have been their best effort.
The plantains were the only part of the meal that kept me at the table.
The rice was nearly flavorless..outside of a hint of tomato and a slight spicy heat.
The chicken leg, one leg, was dry and honestly I couldn’t take more than one bite. There was a smell, something funky and very off. Smelled terrible and tasted worse.
I also wanted to try a meat pie. The dough was too thick which made the pie seem dry.
Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good.
If this review seems poor, its getting worse, this meal for two cost $48….rice/fried plantains/one drumbstick…what the what??

My employer occasionally gifts us GrubHub gift cards and I used my last one here. It was my first time trying Nigerian food, and I’m glad I did not let some of the poor reviews sway me. The food is delicious! I got the egusi with a side of joliff rice. Tasted fresh, flavors were great, and had just the right amount of spice! I honestly used to live in the sub behind them, and I’m sad that more eclectic restaurants did not come into Roseville before I left

Nice family owned restaurant. The waitress was super nice and welcoming, great service. Solid portions, they might look small at first but once you start eating you realize that the meal is very filling and good portion. Recommend getting plantains and the fufu and egusi, was really good and well seasoned, same with the chicken. The rice and meat pies were fine. Overall great experience and highly recommended this restaurant and will be here again. (Oh and some great Afro beats in the background while your eating)

This food wasn’t good at all. Super gross. Egusi has a weird smell to it and tastes funny. Jolli rice is ok. But I’m sure all my food was heated up in the microwave because it doesn’t taste fresh at all. Then the kicker is I asked about specials and the boss said that’s from last year but the other prices are still the same. Mmmm that sounds crazy crazy and I spent 29 dollars. I got charged surcharge fee and some other fee. And I came all the way from Utica. NEVER AGAIN

Flavor was good, but price was pretty steep. For almost 19 dollars I expected more than a single drumstick. there was no beef either despite it being in the description. They also had no plantains in stock. They did give a massive portion of rice though, easily 3-4 cups worth. Still, given the price aswell as a 15 minute wait just to order, I don’t think I’m going to come back.

This is a fun, new restaurant to visit. There is a lot of energy in the staff and the food is unique and different. A delightful change from a traditional American meal. If you are ready for some home cooking Nigerian dishes, place your orders or better yet visit the restaurant and get to know the staff. On this lunch visit, I ordered Jollof rice with fried chicken and goat meat. It was not too spicy, but everything was seasoned and flavored nicely. I’m not a big plantain fan, but the plantain was well prepared, and they were delicious. Also, there are various other sides to order from. The staff and chef took the greatest concern and care to make sure that the meal was prepared well and that I and the other guests enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend visiting a couple times or ordering for delivery a couple times to try various dishes. On my next visit I plan to try Turkey Suya and request some shrimp in my Jollof next time.
