This is a cute little date spot. The staff were exceptional! So warm, attentive and thoughtful. Sushi was a 10/10. Fresh! Delicious! It is also affordable. I was not over the moon with the ramen, but it did the trick for a rainy day.

Came here for date night and it was wonderful! The staff was attentive and kind. The Wagyu Roll was light and delicious. The Japanese Fried Rice(Shrimp + Steak) was neatly plated inna unique way I don’t see at many restaurants. It wasn’t greasy and was pack full of flavor. The Ice Cream Mochi was light and delicious. It tasted like it was made in-house. Highly recommend them!

Reservations were set for 8:30 p.m. on a Friday, which was surprising because we were the only couple there, despite this typically being one of their busiest days and times. I ordered the M.J. roll, and my wife ordered the Dynamite roll. We also had miso soup, which really hit the spot. For our appetizer, we ordered the shrimp, which we would rate a 5.7/10 overall. Hokido Japanese Restaurant was pretty good, and I’d give it a solid overall rating of 7.5/10.

Located in near walkable shops in an apartment complex. Dishes were average price for a fancy place. The crispy calamari was under seasoned but had a nice crisp. Tried the uni ravioli, I hated uni the first time I tried it, but I will have to say that this was delicious. The uni was sandwiched between a sliced scallop, def must try there. We also had an assortment of sashimi, not the best fish I’ve had but still good. And ended with the Angel Roll, it was really good! The service was good and food came out really quick. Again, you must try the uni ravioli when you’re there.

First Visit—Definitely Not the Last!
We stopped into Hokido Japanese Restaurant in Smyrna Village for the first time, and it was such a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the service throughout our meal was top-notch.
We tried a couple of sushi rolls, and they were fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. Everything tasted high-quality and well-prepared. We finished with the matcha tiramisu, and wow—such a unique and delightful twist on a classic dessert.
Whether you’re a sushi lover or just looking for a warm, inviting spot for dinner, Hokido is definitely worth a visit. We’ll absolutely be back!
